When I saw that Torrence Memorial had closed their applications to their New Grad program starting in March 2011 I realized we needed a new grad 2011 thread! The 2010 thread was a great place to ask questions and get answers about upcoming new grad opportunities. So let's make this thread the same. :)
First off, When did you graduate?

Any old new grads out there? How long have you been looking for a job?
did I read/understand this correctly? Has USC already been sending out letters of rejection to potential candidates? I have not heard anything back from them yet... Has anyone else received good news? Thanks
I haven't heard anything yet either.. I made a little error on my cover letter, so I'm not keeping my hopes up

Yep, they are already sending out the rejection emails. I received mine last week. If you havnt received anything yet, thats good news. You may still be in the running!
So im going to be starting my entry level Masters in Nursing program at CSUDH this fall i was just wondering how the job market is out there for new grads with no experience like i will be in 2 years. I hope every one finds a job soon it seems pretty tough keep your faith it will work out.
oh man i've never been so happy to have NOT received an email yet!!! trying to not get my hopes up... maybe they went in alpha order (my last name is far down the alphabet) or by date of application (i applied on the next to last day). but USC would be ahMAzing!!! *positive thoughts*
I applied the first day that the application was opened...and my last name starts w/A...and I still haven't received my denial letter yet...but I'm sure that it's coming as I don't have a BSN...but hey - no news is good news at this point!! :)
Anybody heard anything from UCSD?:)
Here is an update regarding UCSD. I just spoke with the nurse recruiter and she informed me that there are about 30 internal applicants that are being considered first and if they do not fill all the new grad spots then they will look at external candidates. She informed me that this process will take approximately 3-4 weeks. So everyone who applied who is an external candidate, put your "patient caps" on because it seems like this is going to take some time . Oh she also informed that depending on the new grad position you applied for, each department may have a different start start date, anywhere from the end of June to the beginning of August.
