I'm orry I just read that Alaska has one of the highest rates of Covid vaccination in the US with roughly over 70% of the eligible person;s being vaccinated.

Alaska Continues to Lead Nation in Vaccination Rates – Mike Dunleavy

Dunleavy is an incompetent liar. The native population was well motivated to vaccinate but the Trump loving population of angry white men were not motivated to vaccinate. At least they are fairly obvious to identify in public settings...they have a tendency to wear their emotions on their flags and in the political messaging of their shirts and hats.

I think we non-Trumpers should do more to take the flag back to the liberals so that it is associated with civil solidarity as opposed something to be humped.

The flags most often displayed by the folks I'm referencing are often political flags or altered American flags...like the thin blue line flag.  Quite often, if there is an American flag it is partnered with a Trump flag.  This use of symbols and symbolism is important in propaganda, especially when advancing feelings of nationalism.

Well, yeah.  The Republicans on my block have turned the American flag (should it not be a neutral signal?) and some other more aggressive ones into their Reichstag banners.  IMHO, it would be a good move for Dems to fly the flag with BLM signs.

The vaccine can be scary, I suppose, if one is stricken by fear of anything medical related. It’s not uncommon to be afraid of needles even in grown adults. It makes me think half the population is full of hypochondriacs if they think the vaccine they are handing out like free candy is going to hurt them. Obviously, it’s not recommended for some, but generally it won’t kill anyone. Not saying that the vaccine is anything like candy at all.

A former coworker is proclaiming on facebook how unfair the new mandate at her hospital is and the division it is causing. Her reasons for refusing vaccine are right from the anti-vax playbook: too new, spike proteins in all your tissues, fetal tissue, she already has immunity, she has strong immune system, forcing her to inject experiment drug, there aren't that many cases anyway, blah, blah. And she will be compelled to wear an N95, and she won't have a vaccinated sticker and this is like making her wear a Star of David.

Good Grief, the victimhood is strong in this one.

According to pediatrician and professor of vaccinology Dr. Paul Offit this virus is not going to go away.  A decision not to get vaccinated is a decision to gain immunity the old fashioned way.  The old fashioned way carries far more risks.  Myocarditis?  COVID causes more frequent and more serious cases.  Blood clots?  Once again COVID cause blood clotting issue far more frequently than vaccine.  With COVID In the last 200 years to vaccine has been found to have long term ill health affects.  Name a vaccine that was pulled from the market because it caused more harm than good.  What other excuses can we debunk today?

Whining on facebook seems about right for anti-Vaxxers.  Perhaps she will enjoy her new non-nursing job and her institution will be

Whining on facebook about getting vaxxed in a hospital says all one needs to know about this person.  The hospital will be better off without her and she might enjoy her new position in a non-scientific field.

It is very interesting how America is becoming a collective society more than ever. Quite unlike the individualistic society it has already been for so many years.

If you look on the CDC website there actually have been some vaccines that were pulled because of harm.  These vaccines are common so of these recalls were as recent as 2013, some were minor like mispacking or mishandling, some were vaccines that cause the condition it was vaccinated against. It appears when polio vaccines were first started in 1955, they had over 250 cases of polio that was caused by the vaccine produced by one company, they recalled this vaccine.

I am not an anti-vaxxer or a Trumper, but I have legitimate concerns about this vaccine, that has not been studied long enough.

I think that it should everyone's choice to be vaccinated not a mandate.  So I am glad that healthcare workers have the option to get vaccinated or weekly testing.  But eventually, everyone will be tested weekly, since both vaccinated and unvaccinated people are getting COVID-19.

Also, scientists and governments have been known to lie about everything and experiment on their own citizens, in the name of the greater good.

I’m in a low-vaccine state. My healthcare system, one of the largest in the state, told us last week that the vaccine is mandatory for ALL staff, even work-from-home staff, by a set date. If you do not have it by this date, you will be placed on 30 days unpaid leave until you get it. If you don’t get it, then you’re terminated. One coworker has already submitted her resignation effective the day of the due date. We actually had a pt leave and r/s their appt because she overheard the front desk staff talking about it and got furious that the front desk staff was not vaccinated and one said she wouldn’t get it. She rescheduled to another location our doctors work in, but I’m worried she’ll ask that front desk person if she’s vaccinated. Question is, do pts have the right to ask staff about their vaccination status, and do they have to answer?  I’m one of the few who are vaccinated, outside of our providers, so I’m either going to lose a lot of coworkers or they’ll be resentful toward our CEO.
