So the headache one....kid has to fake through a whole day BEFORE he wants to leave, continue to fake at night (no sporting events), then again at school, just to be let out a bit early. I'd say with that much planning and determination....kid you get an afternoon off!

Didn't Ferris Bueller already come up with the fake sick to get out of school schtick?
The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It's a good non-specific symptom. I'm a big believer in itA lot of people will tell you to go for a phoney fever. But if you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor's officeYou fake a stomach cramp. When you're bent over wailing, you lick your palmsIt's childish and stupid, but then, so is high school

These kids would hate my school. The one that said fake throwing up, everyone gets sent home for that one. Nope, not at my school. Has to be multiple times, witnessed by an adult. Sorry back to class.

I'm the same way, If I didn't see it, it didn't happen. And it has to happen more than once, esp for those that just ate lunch then ran around the gym before throwing up.

I'm in elementary, luckily, they aren't too sophisticated in their faking illness. For example: kid comes over from lunch looking like death, sweaty, can't eat, super pale-he has a fever, he goes home. 10 minutes later, same class, 2 kids come down giggling
"We have what (other kids) had"
Me: "and what did he have"
"You know, he was really sick and so are we. We have the same thing."
Me: "Really? Your right arm hurts? And your left foot? And you're bleeding from the eyes?"
"Yes, Yes, strange look, yes"
Me: "Go back to class"
I did have one rubbing her face all over her brother's in hopes of catching his pink eye:banghead:

Ha - if I have a kid that tells me their headache has lasted for over 24 hours with no relief, I put on my best sympathetic look and state: "That is very serious. I will need to call your parent/guardian right away so they can take you straight to the doctor."
If they are faking, the "sick" look drops, even for a second. Kids learned I do not bluff. Also, vomiting x1 with no witnesses or only your very bestest friend in the world as a witness? Haha! Nope. I have not even immediately sent 1 time witnessed vomiters home - I have seen so much anxiety-induced vomiting that is anything but contagious.
Also - trying to fake pinkeye / red eyes with make-up. Did you think we were all born yesterday?
This author would not like trying to fake in my office .

If I knew for sure that they were faking, I would counter their attack with talk of having to call 911 and get a rescue squad here ASAP !! That should improve their condition right away !!
