hey guys!
I know this is a short one, but I read it on imdb.com today that she is demanding background checks for the nurses helping her delivery. First Kylie Minogue, and now this. man, I've always hated celebrities.
Quotepregnant pop star Britney Spears is planning to a luxurious labor when she gives birth to her first child in three months time. the singer has reserved a plush room in a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as all adjacent rooms to ensure her moans and groans cannot be heard by nosy passers-by. a source tells star magazine, "Britney wants white and yellow roses in the room when she gets there. Britney wants all the nurses serving her to be given background checks."
OK first of all I live in arizona YES Britnany has been seen once in scottsdale leaving a spa. Scottsdale healthcare denies the rumors (article in last sundays paper) I worked at scottsdale healthcare when I ws a CNA Yes they have or at least had a VIP floor. Which they have opened for just one person. Granted I'm sure this is far from L&D and the OR Scottsdale healthcare is a level 2 nursery (womens center) so if anything goes wrong with mom or baby chances they would be stableized and shipped somewhere else where they would be at the "no docs" mercy. It will be interesting to find out what goes on. If I hear anything from AZ I'll let you all know
The biggest issue I have with this is the "reserving" of her room, and the rooms nextto her. I mean I understand that she wants privacy and all-but the L&D where I used to work, the nicer rooms were always sought after. It just bugs me that some "normal" person my have to do without so La Princess can have her own floor-think about it how many people will actually KNOW when she goes to the hospital? Won't it draw MORE attention when all of a sudden certain approved nurses are pulled, a certain area is suddenly closed off, a certain doctor is pulled away from a case, etc etc, or will she be induced for "security's sake"?
And her requests about the room are kind of sad and funny-what exactly does she think childbirth is going to be like? Some dreamy, fuzzy framed, rose-scented spa day? I would never, ever want to be a famous person's nurse. ever.
I always remember after Madonna had her baby and People mag did a huge story on it-One person wrote into the editor saying "Thank you for the excessive coverage on Madonna's recent delivery; she is, after all, the first woman to ever give birth"-that about sums it up.
I can't for the life of me, understand our fascination with this non-talent. I just can't.
OMG, really!!!! I just read this thread and I'm here shaking my head....my motto is...I treat all my patient's the same...despite the fact that you may be Brittany Spears! Ugh, that is one assignment, in 13yrs of nursing that I might just have to turn down! LOL :rotfl:
I can't for the life of me, understand our fascination with this non-talent. I just can't.
What fascination?
Same thing with Paris Hilton. I, for one, cannot stand her simply because she does NOTHING with her life yet has the means to do so. Tons of money, yet what does she do with it. Buy 6,000 dollar purses, and party all the time.
Yet you can't flip channels on a TV without seeing at least TWO moments featuring either one of those "girls" (sorry, that's not WOMEN to me).
I haven't real all the replies to this topic but I'm wondering why Ms. Britney doesn't just engage private-duty nurses to "serve" her. She can certainly afford it.
Well, if the rumor is true that she has placenta previa, she would be preparing for a c/s. If no, she may be planning an induction on a certain day. Otherwise, she's doing a planned c/s.
All in all, this whole topic seems to be founded on rumors. Just goes to show how we make celebrities a part of our lives. She wouldn't be famous if we didn't make her so.
I'm going to go back to my regularly scheduled lurking now. :sofahider
