hey guys!
I know this is a short one, but I read it on imdb.com today that she is demanding background checks for the nurses helping her delivery. First Kylie Minogue, and now this. man, I've always hated celebrities.
Quotepregnant pop star Britney Spears is planning to a luxurious labor when she gives birth to her first child in three months time. the singer has reserved a plush room in a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as all adjacent rooms to ensure her moans and groans cannot be heard by nosy passers-by. a source tells star magazine, "Britney wants white and yellow roses in the room when she gets there. Britney wants all the nurses serving her to be given background checks."
I did hear that she's been living in Scottsdale for some time. Many people in Arizonia refer to the town as "Snottsdale" since it's famous for it's rich and famous people.
I once worked in a hospital that had a VIP floor. Suites instead of single rooms, extra phone extentions, fancy plumbing fixtures, catered meals, etc. Perhaps her hospital has an area like that. A labor room could be fixed up in an area like that without inconveniencing the real labor staff. She'd only need to be moved if she needed a C/S. I never worked the VIP unit myself, but as I remember, it was only opened when someone especially wanted a VIP room and was willing and able to pay for it.
I once took care of the girlfriend of a famous basketball player. (Of course, I had to ask who "John Doe" was after the fourth time someone said she was John Doe's girlfriend). I treated her (and him) like anyone else, but the nurse who relieved me at the end of my shift promptly asked him for a bunch of autographs and was angry that he refused her. I understand Brittney's concerns, and I'm glad I won't be her labor nurse!

Heck, what's wrong with asking for autographs? I actually had someone relieve me in my room just for a few moments one time in San Francisco so that I could go out to the waiting room and get Phil Lesh's autograph, which he very graciously gave me. What a gentleman. :)
Well, hopefully the hospital does have some sort of VIP thing. If not, I'd hate to have the staff (no matter how carefully checked out) resent her for taking the place of other pts that needed care by reserving extra rooms. If their days are anything like ours are lately, there aren't rooms to spare! I agree w/the other posters that said a private (home) birth might work well. Or maybe a birth center. Of course then she'd have less people to serve her... Or not! BC she can afford to have whatever she needs. I have been so cynical of her and her fake marriage/now famous pregnancy, but I can understand what other posters have said. And I'd love to take care of her; I treat all my pts exactly the same, just like I would a celebrity.
SHE didnt say it! Some trash magazine did!!!!!
Sorry, with her previous diva-behavior, I'd be surprised if this WEREN'T true.
I just think celebrities are the worst. They get paid millions of dollars a year for playing, while the poor are dying, and teachers and cops are struggling to make ends meet.
The worst is their attitude.
As far as Britney and Kylie are concerned, the best thing that they should have done is hire CELEBRITIES who PLAY doctors and nurses on tv to "serve them."
JMHO.

IF she said this about nurses and background checks, I wonder if she has considered ALL the other employees: food service, housekeeping, medical personnel, including med students, the birth registrar, the central supply people, the formula reps, on and on.....There are plenty of people whose jobs could bring them to L&D, postpartum and the nursery. Good grief. Don't pick on the nurses.
