Britney demanding background checks for her L&D nurses..

Updated:   Published

hey guys!

I know this is a short one, but I read it on imdb.com today that she is demanding background checks for the nurses helping her delivery. First Kylie Minogue, and now this. man, I've always hated celebrities.

Quote

pregnant pop star Britney Spears is planning to a luxurious labor when she gives birth to her first child in three months time. the singer has reserved a plush room in a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as all adjacent rooms to ensure her moans and groans cannot be heard by nosy passers-by. a source tells star magazine, "Britney wants white and yellow roses in the room when she gets there. Britney wants all the nurses serving her to be given background checks."

I'm gonna have to side with those who say she has a point. It is hard though because I'm not crazy about her due to her role model status with young girls, because I think she is an airhead and because I don't think she can sing very well.

However, I'd be very protective of my child's birth if I were her and definitely do some background checks - those camera phones are very intrusive and the Star Rag would pay big bucks for the first photos. And roses in the delivery room are not a rarity. People bring all kinds of things into the delivery room. Special music. Photos. Flowers. Hey, Lamaze teaches you to bring a focal point in . . . something to stare at when you want to tear your husband's head off. :chuckle

People also bring food in - especially right after delivery. Moms are usually starving and that dry old white bread turkey sandwich from the hospital kitchen with a side of Lay's Potato Chips doesn't look all that appetizing. I've had people go out to our local restaurants and bring back food - a very common occurance.

Celebrities do ask for attention - but stalking isn't necessary.

I feel sorry for the baby.

I'd almost feel sorry for her, but she's practically thrown her life in front of the camera, when she and her "husband" peddled their reality show to different networks.

That's seeking out publicity IMO.

Exactly.

I'm not concerned about what she does with her own life, but soon she'll have a little one to worry about. I can certainly see how she would want to protect the privacy of her and her baby, but I probably would respect her more if she didn't always throw herself in front of an audience. I hope she doesn't use the baby just to get more "attention".

I'm among those that think that she should have a homebirth as well. Lots of privacy, like space, at home, no one can hear you scream... :)

I think that either the Star or Britney have a few misconceptions about hospital rooms. They aren't "rented" like hotel rooms. I remember when I first joined allnurses.com there was a thread. It went something like "Welcome to the Hilton, may I fluff your pillow?" Or something like that. I think that this is what Ms. Spears/Federline is expecting.

I suppose that she has a lot of money, but is she going to pay the hospital the lost revenue on those unused rooms?

One thing that I can commiserate with her is her security. She may not understand that all nurses must have a background check in order to be hired. I think that she may want to ask for a dependable, trusted nurse that has been at that hospital for a long time as opposed to a new person recently hired that may be in place just to tip off papparazzi and get some big bucks. I sort of understand her concerns there. Papparazzi are not friendly people and will do anything to get a prized shot of Ms. Spears/Federline at a time of her life in which she is feeling exposed, and vulnerable. I do understand that she now has a baby to think of, and she's doing that for baby's protection.

I just don't like what Star magazine said, "the nurses who were serving her." Makes me think of another thread in the ED forum named: "The ED Has Become a Restaurant." It's pretty funny.

Like someone else said, I think that she's doing the background checks on the wrong people. She should have done that with her husband before they got married. He's STRANGE... he once said on their little TV show that he didn't believe in marriage.

She could have done much, much better. Kevin Federline strikes me as a big loser, IMNSHO.

I do wish for her a safe birth, and I hope that she's preparing to be a great mommy.
