hey guys!
I know this is a short one, but I read it on imdb.com today that she is demanding background checks for the nurses helping her delivery. First Kylie Minogue, and now this. man, I've always hated celebrities.
Quotepregnant pop star Britney Spears is planning to a luxurious labor when she gives birth to her first child in three months time. the singer has reserved a plush room in a hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as all adjacent rooms to ensure her moans and groans cannot be heard by nosy passers-by. a source tells star magazine, "Britney wants white and yellow roses in the room when she gets there. Britney wants all the nurses serving her to be given background checks."
:balloons: Go Britney and Kevin!!! Do what you feel is right to do by your baby!
Heck, I'd do nothing less if it were me having a baby, and I was a big time celebrity. She has worked hard in her young life, made the big bucks, and if she wants to spend a lot of her hard earned cash to ensure their baby enters the world in a safe well protected environment then hats off to them both for doing so.
The papparazzi's are NOT nice people anymore. They would rather cause an accident to get the big bucks coming their way than to practice common sense by respecting human life. They put money over life -- IMHO. They have become too criminal in their pursuit of celebrities...all for the money they can get out of it. I wish them well and hope they are as good at hiding the birth place of their baby as they were in hiding the real place their wedding was going to take place. Celebrities are having to become that way in light of the nasty papparazzis today. :) Why blame them for that?
I'm still a student so I'm unsure how all this works but...How is she able to reserve all the rooms around here, what about other patients that could possibly need them? I know a lot of these hospitals in Phoenix fill up with L&D patients, Scottsdale hospital is no different, correct? So they have to turn people away because Ms Spears is in town, if they fill up?

I'm curious as to how that works too. Granted, we don't have anyone reserving rooms, but we never turn patients away, even if all our rooms are full. I have a hard time visualizing how a unit could turn patients away with empty rooms available.
I heard this on the radio this morning. She wants background checks, roses in the room and all the food will be catered. I keep going back and forth on this one. I think because of who it is, it exasperates me because I think Britney and her husband are beyond ridiculous. Plus, I am so fed up with hearing about celebrities lately. It is stupid. However, I think given her celebrity status, the background checks are reasonable. There are a lot of strange people out there and some of them work in hospitals. And although I cannot fathom why, someone has to like her because she is still making headlines and selling albums. Her medical information could be compromised by a crazed fan, who could be a nurse of hospital worker. Especially since camera phones are so prevalent...which I now think should be banned due to my noticing some wierdo snapping my picture with his while I was at the grocery store. The roses and catered food do seem ridiculous, however (I do not have kids, by the way), if I decide I want to eat nothing but oreos after I give birth or whatever other thing I might want (within reason), I expect my husband/sister to get them for me. After all, I will have just given birth and deserve some pampering. Thinking about that, kind of makes me think it is not so ridiculous what she is requesting...just the fact that it is "news."
Maybe she should plan a homebirth. She'd have more control over who was allowed in for that. :)
Between us......this is EXACTLY what my gut feeling tells me they will do. :) She will either give birth in her hometown in her parents home, another relatives home, or even more special...in the home she is building there near her parents that is well hidden from public view. She's a Southern girl with southern upbringing, and when the time comes to have her baby, I have no doubt she will do it in the way her family tradition has brought her up in...Southern roots. No way do I believe she will give birth to her baby in Hollywood. No way!
If she doesn't have that baby in Louisiana, she may fly her entire family to Europe and give birth to her baby at Madonna's home, or in a Kabbalah home. The papparazzi won't know what hit them.
A patient is a patient...no matter the money..in my state all licensed nurses have a background check done at the time you sit for boards and at job application..no loop holes to slip through...pretty safe. Celebrities need to relax. Hell...I kept both of my daughters at my bedside post-delivery and I was with them until we went home. I think she may be a little different! Do you think the nurses taking care of her will kiss her behind or what...hoping for a grand gift basket!!!!
Hadn't read all the way through so i'm sure this has been repeated, but a patient isn't just a patient. why? you can't get 50,000 selling just anybody's baby pics to the media or twice that for actual labor pics.
you could probably even get 10,000 just for gossip about what was said in the delivery room.
That being the case, if it were MY life and I were subject to THAT kind of scrutiny for what should be a private, blessed moment, and I had that kind of MONEY, i'd expect the same thing.
And the hospital is more than happy to oblige because there'll probably be a hundred girls this year choose that hospital thinking about how neat it would be if they got 'britney's room'

I still can't believe she is pregnant...wasn't she 14 yesterday singing in the halls of a high school with pig tails? I guess i'm in no position to judge but her hubby seems less than desirable..blah..anyway...i guess if i had millions like she does...well...who knows maybe id want yellow roses and background checks too...since that will never happen and more than likely no one will care what hospital i deliver my first child is at..guess it doesnt matter:) lol
I think that her requests are reasonable too...there are all kinds of people working in the hospital system...and I agree, with the paparrazzi the way they are- they are going to be chomping at the bit for pictures/gossip anything- plus there are soooo many people that would sell out for the money that these magazines offer...I can't imagine getting so much scrutiny for living my life -I know, I know, she chose it blah blah blah, but still...this is the birth of her child- I'm sure that she wants the best- and who wouldn't if we could afford it. I would have roses and catered food too... why eat hospital food if you don't have too...I think that Briney could/can be a great mom...She seems to dote on her husbands children (yes, that is from the gossip magazines themselves...)...I would venture to guess that many people had some crazy party days before they settled down...even people that live in the limelight can be good parents and we have no reason to think that she won't be a good mom, she just gets picked apart because there is always someone stalking her with a camera- and who knows how blown out of proportion that is...even her little show is just a way to make a ton of money, apparently someone is watching it...In fact, I give her credit, because she made a ton of money with a marginal voice...If I could do what she did- I would...at least she dosen't have to worry about money...
I think that she can and will be a good mom...I hope for her childs sake that I am right...
