Not really that good but when I handed in my copy of my 1.5months ( I gave them lots of time to replace me ) my boss looked me dead in the eye and said "Well **** you too" and walked out. I kind of just sat there for a second, didn't know what to do.

wow the heck?!?!?! why would you be ineligible for hire when it was obviously done out of internal issues not reflecting on you personally? geeeeeeeeeez.

I was completely bent out of shape about this for a couple of years, but I'm now over it- their loss.

At first I read that as "well, s***, you too?" as in you were the 9th person to resign that week. Then it dawned on me what your boss really said.

Yikes!

I was actually the 6th in 1.5 months. He was my old charge nurse and I knew he was saying it in jest. I came back the next day and we sat down for a few hours and had a chat about what the ER had become/needs to become/fluffy unicorns and what not.

Story where I work and it was right before me... Nurse Manager was being fired and walked out of the building... as she was leaving she lunged for a nurse sitting at the nurses station and started choking her. No one was sure why it happened, but she threw a few not so nice words out at the nurse she was choking so maybe she thought that was the nurse that got her fired... wish I had seen it though.

Be thankful you were spared working under such a person. Did the nurse who was choked press charges?

While in nursing school I was working at a department store. One morning an employee was told that she was being fired. As she left the building, she picked up the phone and punched in the code to talk over the store loudspeaker. She then proceeded to go into a profanity laced tirade about the store, the managers, and anything else she could think of. It was epic!

I had worked several years in a small, (one doctor, one nurse) office. The day I turned in my notice to the doctor his response was to tell me "you will burn in hell for leaving me". My response, "save me a seat, you will be there first".

Another time I was having dinner with a friend and the bartender had been fired in the middle of her shift. She comes storming down the stairs toward the front door, there was a pitcher of water sitting there, she slaps the water pitcher and water goes all over the table between her and my and my friend, covers my friends back and our food and my face. Needless to say our meal was free and so was the next one we got there!

I worked with a nurse who called off for an entire week because she said her mother died. Everyone felt terrible we got her a condolence card and we're going to give it to her when she came back.So it was a bit of a shock when this nurses mother CAME TO THE FACILITY LOOKING FOR HER A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER!!! But you know what was the best part? That nurse c s me back the next week without knowing that her very alive mother visited us a few days before. Needless to say she no longer had a job
