best i quit or fired story

Published

This isnt mine personally.

The administrator pulled the housekeeper in her office to let her go. Apparently when the boss told the housekeeper(slim female) she turned into the terminator and FLIPPED the 50inch(just estimating) desk on the boss. Chile i never seen such jerry springer like behavior on the job in my life.

Now THATS a way to go out with a bang.

any stories?

This and the creepy RT story takes the cake.

I had out my resignation in from a job I worked at for 4 years; a coworker who just started put in their resignation right after I did and got the brunt of my manager's passive aggressive tirade. :sneaky:

because she wouldn't have been allowed to go back and get it.

I have one were someone SHOULD have been fired, but was not.. When I worked at an outpt facility we had an employee who was stealing money working at the front desk (when she took cash payments). Since they couldn't "prove it" they decided to move her.. to patient accounts.. where she had more access to cash.. :banghead:

Too sad to be fun. :(

I'm being half serious, but if I was fired of nursing job, I would probably scream in joy and never get into healthcare again

It was around when state came in to do our audit. Apparently we passed but just had minor tags. That minor tag however the DON addressed last time to the maintenance director and he never followed through to fixing the problem. She in turn threatened him? Cops were called, she was escorted out.

In a non-nursing job of mine, a girl did not show up for her shift. She did not even call in! My manager was frantic because we already were short staffed. He left several messages, but never heard back. To say the least, he was peeved and the rest of us had to work double time to make sure our ship did not sink.

The next day, the girl showed up, bright eyed and bushy tailed like nothing happened. I really do not recall what her excuse was, just how air headed she was when the manager just pointed to the door and said leave. She just canted her head and said, "Am I getting the day off?"

Let's just say, after she got the gist, we all had a good giggle.

I was fired once from a rest-home that gave me 'free -reign and total backing' (HA!) to help reorganize their office and records. If I do say so myself, I did a jam-up job of it, because it was one horrendous mess.

They also had two 'civilians' who formerly ran the joint to their own liking; they were neither licensed, trained, nor in any management positions, but they held sway over lots of things they had no business being in charge of.

When I submitted my suggestions to the owner, on how to make the place run more smoothly (and legally! They were always operating under a pink slip of violations at least 13 items long!) he caled in those two women, and THEY raised such a big stink that I ended up getting fired!

The reason stated to me was 'a personality conflict that could not be resolved.' Nobody ever said anything to me about a conflict, nobody ever came to me to try to resolve it. I was in the dark!

Of course, at first I was absolutely devastated, never having been fired before, and after ONLY 6 WEEKS! Then when I explained my story to a work-place I was going back to for re-hire, all the higher-ups congratulated me, saying that it spoke very well of me that I had lasted that long there and tried to whip that place into some kind of reasonable order. Apparently it was a well-known DUMP of a facility that horrified nearly everyone who knew of it!

That's NUTS!!! You would think they could have had video cameras in place to get their proof. *sigh*

Interesting stories, l will add one.

On the unit where I worked, a particular nurse and CNA never got along. Both kept accusing the other of being lazy. One night, an argument occurred between the two over a hat that hadn't been emptied. In this argument, they called each other names that rhymed with stick and runt. After the CNA called the nurse's special needs son a "retard", the nurse smacked her, turning the argument into a physical alteration. I'm talking hair pulling, scratching, and punching. A charge nurse, nurse, and CNA that tried to break it up were all hurt. I did not attempt to stop the fight. Security was called, and they were the ones who broke up the fight. The unit manager came in, spoke with them and sent them home. The nurse continued to work there, and the CNA was fired.

That was the craziest shift for me ever!
