I know we should take everything with a grain of salt, but it's been right on my teachers so far.

That site scared me when I looked at my nutrition professor's rating before class started. Turned out all the bad stuff that was said must have been from slackers! I am hoping the ratings for my comparative religions professor are correct, though! He got all positive ratings :)!
Yup, that's true...scared me too but if more than 20 people rated the professor, it somehow validates their classroom performance:) Anyway, we are all different;)

I saw a lot of students who used this site for 'revenge' when a professor failed them. I wouldn't call it reliable.

There's always a few people who use the site for revenge, but as long as you take everything that's said with a grain of salt, I think it's got good info. I've used it a lot! I've also tried to post my opinions.

I love that web site too. I didn't discover it until I had done a semester of general classes. I will not sign up for classes until I read the reviews. I must admit they are not always accurate though. Some of the teachers that got bad reviews, I thought were great. I also learned that when everyone rates a teacher with having a great sense of humor and fun, the teacher turns out to be someone whose sense of humor I absolutely cannot stand and do not learn a thing from. I try to stick to the teachers when students say they can lecture really well or make the class more interesting with personal stories.

OMG, I never knew this thing existed! I'd be willing to bet a large farm that my instructors don't know about it either.
I looked up the most disparaged teacher in our program first, and found all the comments on the money. And I was shocked to find that what I had just heard as rumor was stated year after year!
I'm sure that people can just post sour grapes, but if you look at the length of time the posts are made (over what period of time), you can get a feel for whether it's a patterned problem or just a few unhappy people in one class.
Anyway, there were no surprises when I looked up the rest of the teachers :)

You bet that site works!!!! My A&P 1 teacher was just as cr^ppy as they described him, I should have taken the comments more serious and never signed up for him.... so far things pretty much match....you get a pretty good picture of your future teacher by reading the comments, of course their will always be someone whiny but for the most part the comments are true.
