  1. I worked for a few months at GCH as a contingent Resp. THerapist and here's what I liked: -teaching hospital -friendly staff -pay is very competitive What I didn't like: -hospital is old and dirty looking w/antiquated heating and cooling systems -it was busy as H E L L all the time. Good and bad depending on how you look at it LOL -the set up of the hospital is retarded. This matters because as a therapist, I humped all around that place. It's a typical community hospital. There's good things and bad things about them all. I wish you luck in clinicals!
  2. is he productive to begin with? I can't tell you how many times we get orders for sputum samples from patients who don't have a drop to donate :chuckle I would show him by coughing and pretending to spit into the cup. Otherwise, you'll have to deep suction him if you really, really need that sample. GL!
  3. I'd call the nurse manager 1st. She/He'll let you know who to get in contact with.
  4. I'm an RT thinking of doing the accelerated program at Lansing CC. I live in the metro Detroit area so it would be a HIKE for me but being an RT, I can start the nursing program in the 2nd year and only have to do 1 year in order to graduate w/an assoc. in nursing. I'd love some feedback from anyone who's done this program.
  5. I totally wouldn't take micro AND chem together. What other classes do you have to take yet?
  6. OMG!!! NOOOOO!!!! I"m sooo bummed!
  7. www.ratemyprofessors.com This is very cool!
  8. OH Lord help me! :uhoh21:
  9. You WILL get use to it. Just like everything else that is the "unknown" once you start doing it, it will become no biggie! Plus, you just squrit the stuff up there and hopefully they have a bedside commode when the erruption happens!
  10. WOW!!! That's some MAJOR responsibility! Do you guys have respiratory therapists that manage the vents at your hospital? In some of the smaller, rural hospitals here in Michigan, it's common for RT's to intubate. We don't in my hospital THANK GOD!
  11. Gosh I hope nurses around here make more money than $25! I make $24 as a Respiratory Therapist. I'd hate to assume all this debt just to make a smidge more than I do now.
  12. Well I'll tell you this, I've been trying for the last 3 weeks to have one of the nursing admit. people call me back! I've left 4 messages for her on her voice mail and nothing....I'm pretty pissed off at this point. Why should I have to BEG a university to take my $330 per credit hour? I'm going to Wayne State where they've GLADLY answered my calls.
  13. Anyone here in Madonna's program? I heard a rumor that they "may" be having accredidation problems and really would like to know if that's true before I take out a million dollar loan for nursing school. TIA!! Michelle
