April 2008 NCLEX test takers, COME ON IN!

Per the request of janina08 ;) I've started the April NCLEX takers support group. When do you take it? What are you using to study? Would anyone like to review any of the systems/meds that he/she feels weakest on? Let's keep each other in our prayers and good thoughts as we go through one of the biggest experiences of our lives. :) :nurse:

Hey, I took the NCLEX this morning and got my results this afternoon!! I passed with 75 questions. I am so happy!

I don't know how to change my user name to get rid of SN at the end...I'd rather be LaruaRN now.

I got my results from my state board website (Washington State). I was totally shocked to hear on the same day.

This thread was so helpful and supportive. The suggestions were really valuable. I took a three day review class and did about 1200 questions on the Saunders CD, 300 were pharmacology questions. I also studied with a friend and we shared info and ideas about test-taking. She passed with 75 questions too!!

Thank you again to all who have posted encouragement, support and strategies, and congratulations too. I appreciate it!

Question:

In FIBROCYSTIC disorder of breasts : WHY are we supposed to ASSESS the breast lumps BEFORE period and not after period? It said, it goes with cyclical hormonal changes. So how does that cyclical hormonal changes relate with assessing BEFORE period? Someone please explain. Thanks a lot.

i think probably because breast is more tender and more palpable before period...i dont know?

Question:

What is the action of SEROTONIN?

Like SSRI such as PROZAC prescribed for DEPRESSION & OCD. These guys are not getting more serotonins, and the therapeutic action is depression and OCD controlled (down). Hm... So, what is the normal action of SEROTONIN the neurotransmitter? Thnks

Ear exam: less than 3 yrs - pinna pull down and back -----> it is 3 YEARS correct?

car seat: INFANTS: facing backward

TODDLERS 1-3 : separation anxiety normal
