Inactive Nurse who wants to continue career in nursing
hi ut utrn..i have been out of practice for 6 yrs and i am currently training at the lung center. they have an excellent training program as you get to handle as much as 10 patients. you will be assigned in different wards, ICU and ER. just call Lung Center of the Philippines Nursing Training Office to inquire. If you have a valid license you will be fine. IV training doesn't need experience for you to qualify in the training. All you need is your RN license. Best of luck!

anyone here applied for SLMC-GC???
word of advice, if you're planning on sending your resume thru the website, you better opt for the more personal approach...better go to cathedral heights in corporate attire and give your resume. it is better to be in a corporate attire since they might choose you to undergo initial assessment right there and then...we never know right? so better come prepared. their initial exam is an IQ test. best of luck and God bless! :)

anyone here applied for SLMC-GC???
i was one of those who took the initial assessment last Monday, April 6, 2009-holiday. I asked the one who messaged me (stephanie) if there really is an exam on that day since it is a holiday, and she said that even if it was a holiday, the exam will still push though. :)

Nursing in Australia
apple, there's no way you could work in australia without first, registering in their nursing council, then you will have to be evaluated if you qualify, then they will recommend you to enroll for the bridging program which costs AUD12000 (as of April 2008, depending on the University). Student visa costs: Php18++ thousand, initial registration is around AUD200++. as for work experience, that will be evaluated by the nursing council.

Info on Global Scholarship Alliance
GSA or Global Scholarship Alliance sends Filipino nurses to the US to study MSN. They are on J-1 visa. They are to finish the 4 yr Masteral Course but will have to come back to the Philippines to serve the country for 2 yrs before they could go back again to the US to work. They are working there in an affiliated hospital for a minimum period just to support thmeselves while schooling. They are the ones paying their own apartments. GSA will only shoulder your tuition and books. Greencard is not offered to these scholars. My friends are now in the US preparing to come home as they finished their MSN already. ANd they are under GSA. GSA also, shoulders NCLEX and the visa fees, but once you failed you will take the exams again and will have to pay the whole expenses on your own. If in case you failed again, and decide not to push through with the scholarship you will pay them the amount they have spent for you. GSA will not make you take the NCLEX and make you go through the whole process without you signing the contract.

Proctors know if you pass NCLEX?
proctors don't have a way of knowing whether you passed or failed just after you took the NCLEX, but they know if you failed from a previous attempt to take the NCLEX since it will show on your records after you have done the fingerprinting, alongside the photo that was taken of you before.
