Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello everyone,

I decided to start a thread for those taking nclex in april 2009 so we can support and encourage each other. Please share your thoughts, fears, anything.....What you are using to prepare etc.

This will be my second time taking nclex. First time (nov 12, 2008), i had 75 questions....felt horrible when i found out i did not pass. I made a study plan and promised myself to stick to it and not procastinate, gave myself 6 wks of studying. I am studying saunders 4th ed for content review, doing questions from saunders cd and nclex 3500. I plan to re-take nclex on april 1st, 2009. I am hoping for the best for all of us yet to pass nclex.

Hi everyone! I am taking the exam for the second time :( at the end of April. Thank you for starting this thread for us all to chat. I have been using Saunders and just about every nclex cd out there! I was going to use Suzanne's plan, but alas- I guess it's too late? If anyone has any pointers or thoughts on how I should study I would appreciate it. I got my results back and had near passing in every category, so I'm lost on where to start. I did begin Suzanne's first tip. Any other advice. Thanks!

I noticed you had near passing standard in every category. I was curious if you had 265 questions. I had near passing standard in every category too and was wondering how you studied the first time.

goodluck to all of us. we can do this!!!

I am an international nurse and I've just had my NCLEX on Monday 03/09/2009 and the computer shut off at 75 questions.I am in CA and they don't have quick result and they say it takes 2 - 4 weeks. I studied Saunders 4th ed,Saunders Q & A and Kaplan. If I did not pass I will take it again as soon as possible I wish I passed:). Good luck everyone

I graduate in two days :yeah:and plan on taking the NCLEX-RN April 20th (my dad's birthday, a holiday for my culture and a good friend passed hers that day four years ago so I figure it's a good date. PLUS, I am leaving for the virgin islands the 22nd!)...

I have been doing Saunders questions from the cd and copying all rationales of questions I missed in a word document for later review. I wanted to do Suzanne's plan but you have to have a date for NCLEX and she stopped doing her plan before I could get in.

I am still debating about Kaplan's online complete because it's quite a chunk of money! But I think I may regret it if I fail and I didn't get it. They don't offer the full guarantee on the on-line component though; only in-person, which I don't want to do because I can't sit in class anymore (lol) and plus the classes in my area run past the date I want to take the exam.

I am a little nervous that I just have four weeks to study but I am one of those that gets her take home final done 5 days before the due date so I think I can motivate. The Virgin Islands trip I am taking is pretty good for motivation!

Good luck to you all!

I'll be taking my exam for the 3rd time on next month. I've used HURST review and did questions from Saunders. I just signed up for Kaplan. Id'm praying for success this time. Any advice will help me at this point. On my exam I has several priority questions, infection control and medications. If I can tackle these types of questions I will be great.

Best wishes to everyone preparing to test in April.

Hi.This is my first time when I am "active" not just reading the posts and I am doing this

because my 2nd time NCLEX will be on 1April.I am very nervous, anxios and the only people

that can share the some feelings as my ,are here.My family is supporting me,but I still

think that I am not enough understended.

I am international nurse (as you can read :D)and I gratuated 15years ago,so is not easy, but I know I can do it.

The first time I did only questions from Saunders for almost 2 months, and in august

my test stopped at 89 Q .I had Basic care Above;Pharmac &Safety-below and the rest of it

near.I was upset but I realize that I didn't study and also I am very sure about The Good will

depends very much about what kind of questions you got, some of them I know the answers

very well ,same of them are still SF for me...

I enrolled in KAPLAN from de end of january and I did not study something else, before january

for 2 months I was trying to study my self and I got stuck with so many books,so I decide

to get Kaplan for international nurses. For me is working well so far,but I have to see the result.

My plan is on 1 of April to try again and IF I will not pass I give me another chance in 25of may,

when my kaplan will expire....after that...I really don't know..

Good luck to everyone and Pray!!!!

Thanks for this thread. I am going to retake my test again on 23rd. I really appreciate any support from you all. Please ask me everyday if I follow through with my task I need it. sometimes I feel tired and lack motivation to study, so please I need your help. I am starting from my weakest area which is Pharmacology.. I completed it today. I am now moving on to Health Promo and Maintenance. I am using Kaplan Course Book and their Online review. I am thinking of using the learningext as well but I want to know if anyone can share their experience using this program before I subscribe to it.

Lest I forget, Can anyone tell me where to get La charity Delegation Book? I have searched Barnes and Amazon even ebay LOL.
