Hello everyone,
I decided to start a thread for those taking nclex in april 2009 so we can support and encourage each other. Please share your thoughts, fears, anything.....What you are using to prepare etc.
This will be my second time taking nclex. First time (nov 12, 2008), i had 75 questions....felt horrible when i found out i did not pass. I made a study plan and promised myself to stick to it and not procastinate, gave myself 6 wks of studying. I am studying saunders 4th ed for content review, doing questions from saunders cd and nclex 3500. I plan to re-take nclex on april 1st, 2009. I am hoping for the best for all of us yet to pass nclex.

I am taking my exam April 27th. I am currently using Kaplan Q-bank and course book, as well as saunders for additional info that is not explained well in Kaplan.
What is nclex 3500?

HELP ! This will be my third time. Let me bore you with details. I have been a LPN for 18 yrs, I finished RN school Jan. 2007 (avg. student). I ran and took my boards in Feb. had 265 Q's. got results back and had near passing on everything, but failed.
Took Kaplan and found it not very helpful since all questions can not be answered with assessment or implementation. BUT went ahead and took boards again in Nov. 2007. Had 75 Q's and did use Kaplan statgery when stuck on questions. I thanked God all the way home I was so happy just knew I had nailed it. And then BAM, the news I failed and had below passing on some, above on one and near on others.
It has taking me over a year to get the nerve to think about trying again, but need more then just my families "oh just take it again we know you can pass it".
I choose to do Suzeanne's plan, it just sounded so much more personal then others, bought the book and just started and NOW she's not doing it anymore, WOW. I just can't seem to get this studying off the ground I feel like I have waited so long.
Does anyone out there feel my pain ?:chair:

Hi. I am doing Suzanne's Plan this time, I've taken Kaplan and reviewed with Saunders book and cd prior and was close to passing which is why I choose S.plan. I was thinking of doing the NCSBN review but I had a hard time finding people who have used it and what they thought about it.
So, I test April 30th, it was the 24th but I started to freak out b/c I have been having a hard time getting going and sticking to my plan. But, tomorrow is the day! Everyday I will be up and at the library no later than 7am to get my 3 hours in. Then I'll work, do errands and whatever else I need to do for the day and maybe review threads on here or from other sources.
If you don't mind I would really love someone to check in with, if someone would like the same let me know and we can help eachother stay on task.
Thanks.

Hey everyone. I'm planning on taking the NCLEX-RN sometime in April. I haven't decided on a date yet but I'm aiming for mid-April. This is going to be my second time taking it. I failed back in December with 265 questions with near passing standard in every category. I used mostly Kaplan qbank and q trainders. I also used a little of Saunders cd. I Studied for about 5-6 hours a day M-F. After getting advice from other people after I failed, they said that I may have overdone it and fried my brain. This time I'm doing Suzzane's Plan. It is a little different from the way I'm used to studying but it has gotten rave reviews. So I'm willing to try it.
Good luck to everyone on this boat. I'll continue to pray that everyone will have the strength, widom and patience to see this through. Remember, what ever study plan you are using, stick with it, stay on course, and don't slack off. We can do it! I know because so many have done it before. I'll keep checking in on this thread. Now...GO STUDY!!!
Does anyone know of a good website for a list of vaccination info? I am confused by the kaplan chart.

I will be taking my boards for the 2nd time in April.....of course, I am nervous...but not to the point that I am beating myself up....being a non-trad student with a family I am used to studying by myself but any support would be great.....using this thread to keep my spirits up sound fabulous.....using a couple different books to study....need help with therapeutic response questions tho...any suggestions???
ME ME, Pick me! I am having the same problem I really need someone to share and answer to, sounds crazy I know but I am such a procrastator. I want this NCLEX stamp of approval worst then anything. But I just was blown out of the water I was going to do Suzanne's Plan and now shes not doing it anymore. PM me and maybe we can help each other, Good Luck!
