I studied for 5 weeks from Saunders.....3 hours studying.....did between 100q-265q per day for 5 wks....i studied one system at a time...for example if i did cardio...i would study cardio peds and cardio adult...then the next day i would do cardio meds (a whole day to concentrate on meds section)...i learned better that way.... Thanks everyone again and best of luck to everyone who's yet to take nclex

Hello everyone, I decided to start a thread for those taking nclex in april 2009 so we can support and encourage each other. Please share your thoughts, fears, anything.....What you are using to prepare etc. This will be my second time taking nclex. First time (nov 12, 2008), i had 75 questions....felt horrible when i found out i did not pass. I made a study plan and promised myself to stick to it and not procastinate, gave myself 6 wks of studying. I am studying saunders 4th ed for content review, doing questions from saunders cd and nclex 3500. I plan to re-take nclex on april 1st, 2009. I am hoping for the best for all of us yet to pass nclex.

just got accepted into MSN/Psych program
Thanks for the advice....i start in spring with some of the core courses (3 classes).....i'm a scared yet eager to start..... what made me decide to go the psych route is while in nursing school i enjoyed and learned a lot in all clinical rotation but psych struck a cord with me. I developed my affinity for listening to clients which enabled me to develop and allow the use of greatest personal trait. I understand that classes will be challenging, so with determination, support of loved ones and allnurses family......i will overcome....thank you everyone

Essex County College...
my advice for lovelymo79 is to study or at least do a quick overview of the chapters before actual lecture for that chapter so that you can better understand what the professor is talking about.....i did all my pre-requisites e.g (A &P) in essex county college as a prenursing student and then tranferred to Rutgers....a&p was tough...i took it with toran....but you will learn a lot...also someone mentioned above about a website (ratemyprofessor.com)...utilize it.....best of luck

Rutgers vs Kaplan NCLEX reviews
I took rutgers review class. Like atrex mentioned above, you can take the class if you need to brush up on content but in terms of strategies and how to answer nclex style question, it does not really help. I failed nclex because i went into the exam with knowledge (content) and not critical thinking skills.....i would suggest getting saunders comprehensive and doing suzanne's plan....info can be seen on nclex forum stickie. i wish you the best
