  1. Today I am excited to announce that I finally passed my ANCC FNP certification boards. ? It was quite a journey. A great accomplishment for myself. I thought it would be great to write something that would help others in the same situation I was in. I first did the Barkley review and felt it was a great review but obviously knew I could not pass the test with just that. I also used the Fitzgerald book of questions and the Leik book to get the information in a simpler form. The test was as expected.... hard.......I studied hard for it so towards the end felt like I was over it all. If I can advise you on anything , it is to take a review, practice some questions, and review all rationales while going back to review those you get incorrect. I felt the exam was 50% diseases/50% research or professional practice. I would concentrate on most common disorders (Asthma, diabetes, cholesterol, depression, GERD, PUD, UTI, conjunctivitis, etc). Study the different types of research studies (qualitative, Quantitative, Random controlled, cohort, etc). All terms in root cause, risk management, quality improvement, ICD, mortality, incidence, external validity, quality improvement....just a few things to help you organize some studying. I looked for this when I was studying and rarely saw any posts. Hope this helps. Good luck to you all.
  2. Hello, Taking my boards next week. Can you share that information with me? My email is [email protected]. Im a little nervous since I am a terrible test taker. Thanks.
  3. I took my exam in New Jersey...on October 30th and we get our quick results in 2 days.....I havent gotten the letter yet..
  4. It was my fourth time taking it and I tried studyin everything from Kaplan to Lipincott but all the helped me was Suzannes Plan...exactly how she says to do it.....Thanx again Suzanne.....
  5. I cant believe this is real but I PASSED MY BOARDS....woooohhoooooooo.....Thank you Jesus im finally free....All my thanx goes to Suzanne and her plan....Thank You SOOOO MUCH....you r an angel...and I hope God continues to use you to help others like me pass this beast....If I can do it...you can all do it........Good luck!!!!!
  6. I did use Suzannes Plan and I felt great about it...My scores were ranging from 70 to 100...never did I go lower than that....and my avg was 85....when I decided to take the test I felt ready...I felt ready and confident this morning...but the exam seemed soo hard...like the questions they asked had content that I knew about...content that I had reviewed thru Suzannes plan but the priorities were so hard ....to me everything felt as important as the next........It just seemed to get harder and harder....I had meds, lots of priorities, one calculation, 3 SATA, ....and a few things I never heard of....it was extremely overwhelmin....but at this point I cant go back....so whateva it is now is what I get...:uhoh21:...It didnt seem easier to me....the good thing is that I knew basic fundamentals on about 85% of the test from my reviews....but dont think it was enough to answer the questions....hope this answered ur question:nuke:...thanx
  7. Just took the test and stopped at 118....so scared....ive been thru this failin feelin before and I dont want to feel this any more.....I feel so horrible ....its my fourth time and I feel like I prepared for this test well and now that I took it I feel like I failed.........dont even want to check my results early...i think i will just wait for the famous envelope........
  8. the truth is, i myself have taken the exam three times and failed....i also graduated in may of 07 and i am currently workin at the hospital....i have lied to my family, co workers and some classmates that i have bumped into...i have avoided phone calls. text messages and comments on certain pages....because i was embarassed to tell them i had failed....i have seen some of my classmates workin as rns in my job and its been a year...i always feel down and dumb...but i have picked myself up and started suzannes plan....i have finished it and i am takin my boards this thursday.....i believe there is a right time for everything...god works in mysterious ways.......dont worry about what anyone has to say or what they think of u....just get back up , study and pass....you have come a long way and nursing school wasnt easy...there r many that cant even pass that....so have faith in yourself and believe that you will be an rn....good luck with your studies and keep your head up....:wink2:
  9. Why is it that as I do my questions and read the rationales with Saunders, im getting them all right ?....It scares me...maybe im studying the wrong thing or what im studying is too easy for me....Im takin my boards in a week and feel prepared but alil scared that maybe I didnt study hard enough....:redbeathe ...Am I doing something wrong or should I try something else?.....HELP:confused:
  10. Hey I failed on my 3rd try as well, now im takin it a fourth time....im using suzannes plan and it seems to be helping me understand alot more and i feel confident with the material....maybe u should try suzannes plan and just that.....sometimes mixing alot of books and materials confuses u and thats when anxiety kicks in....have faith that u will pass....Cuz u will!!!:wink2:
