Anyone working on "Extra Goals"?

I say EXTRA because with all of the hard work and focusing on getting into NS, going to NS, etc. that can be ENOUGH for goals.

I'm currently trying my hardest to lose some WEIGHT before clinical! I stopped working a couple of weeks ago and should be able to squeeze in some exercise time between classes and kiddos this summer. Anyone else?!

I could drop a few pounds, not alot but the less you weigh the less stress on your feet and joints. So that's on my bucket list for the summer. I walk on the beach alot trying to vent some of the stress of waiting and waiting to hear something about orientation. I've developed a brand new set of psych disorders just from the stress and anxiety! Not really.... well, maybe a little OCD with checking my email every five minutes, a little paranoia about having all the things done we have to do, a little (OK alot) insomnia......

I'm working on losing weight, as well. I had an extra 10-15lbs on me when I started NS and I put on an extra 20 in just the first semester. Thanks to lots of wine, Starbucks, and restaurant study sessions.

So I'm really dedicating my summer to taking off weight and toning up. I hired a personal trainer and revamped my diet and I'm getting good results! My goal is to be smokin' hot by graduation ;)

I graduate in spring 2015 but will be planning a wedding throughout nursing school. My fiancée is in the Air Force & we plan to be married in September 2015. I am using my breaks (winter and summer) to do the long term planning & whatever I can get done ahead of time because between graduating & the wedding I will need to take the NCLEX too.

I just graduated. And I'm studying for the next three weeks to retake my boards. I'll try and do the whole revamp my diet definitely try to eat out alot less and drink less soda! I'm game I'll definitely give it a go!

I'm working on weight, too! (Trying to lose 150#, actually o.O) Doing Jamie Eason's LiveFit Trainer...which is very time consuming. Plus I work FT+. Something's gonna give somewhere. And this summer I'm taking a phlebotomy course... clinicals are going to overlap at some point.

I am in the summer break in the middle of a 2 year program and just joined a gym with the intention of losing weight. I know it is needed and will only help me in school and life. I only gained a couple of pounds during the first year but being overweight most of my life I have learned that it only leads to more disease and difficulties in life. More power to all of us who take this "extra goal" on during a pretty stressful time!

Good luck!

I am a bit larger than I "should" be and am looking to lose (or be well on my way to losing) about 20-30 pounds. I am right there with Lori, I am going to need the extra energy and less stress on my knees & ankles.

I am attempting to drop my fast food addiction (gross, right?) and develop and exercise addiction. I am making better choices, working out more, and just trying to build healthier habits for the long run.

I'm working on losing weight so that I can get in better shape for nursing school and clinical. There's nothing worse than trying to educate a patient about the benefits of a healthy diet and exercise when you're not following the same advice. So far, I've lost 20 lbs, so now it's a matter of keeping it up and staying active and motivated to exercise during nursing school.

I'm working on losing weight also. And I'm going to be studying for my permit test in July so that when my first semester is over, I can go for my license. I really need to be able to drive. There are no buses that will be able to either get me to clinical at 7:30 AM or take me home at 10 PM. I also need a car.....

Good day:

On January 1, 2012 I made a goal to go from 225/235 pounds (225 on a good day) to 180 pounds; I met that goal last month. Now, my current goal is to get to 175 pounds (basically re-evaluate at each goal point); I'm currently at 177.

Part of the nursing prerequisites for nursing at my school is a PE / Wellness class. Starting July 2nd, I'll be taking a fitness / resistance train course which will hopefully help me reach the 175 goal and keep it. I have been, and currently continue to excise regularly as well as watch what I eat.

Thank you.
