Anyone else pinning all hope on getting accepted to ONE program?

Published

Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who has only applied to ONE program? I do not have a lot of options and wanted an Accelerated BSN, so there are only a couple schools near me that offer that. So I am anxiously waiting to hear from the ONLY school I applied to! Unfortunately, there really were not any other options for me to obtain a BSN, so I am praying I will get in! So it is out of my hands for now, I have applied, sent in my resume, admissions essay, letters of reference, and here I sit anxiously waiting to see if I get an interview and then waiting to hear if I am accepted. My GPA in the BS I already have is a 3.6, but I am just starting to the 5 science pre-reqs I need. I have all the math pre-reqs done thank goodness!

Anyone else??

I applied to only one school, prairie state college in IL. I have a 3.9 G.P.A. I hope I get in!

I'm so glad I found this post because I was beginning to think I was crazy! I too am putting all of my eggs in one basket. I'm a student at Rutgers University applying to the BSN program here and it is VERY competitive. Last year only 40 transfer students out of 800 were accepted. I'm optimistic because I know I have a very strong application. I'll have a great gpa and all of the sciences (except patho) completed, along with all of the gen eds. It may be stupid to only apply to one school, but I've already come so far focused on this program. If I don't get in, I'll have to get a bachelors degree in another area and enter an accelerated program, but I'm trying to stay optimistic and I'm going to keep working hard!

Hell yes only one program for me baby!

Hi,

I am only applying to one school! I also pray that I will get in here too. However, I am starting to doubt this decision because if it is not God's will to go here then I will have no where to go for that semester. Just make sure you are comfortable with your decision. Good luck!!!

I'm counting on my ideal program so much that I've turned other offers of acceptance down! I initially applied everywhere because I was so eager to start working towards my future, and then realized that what I really want is the highest degree I can get right now from a school with a great reputation, in order to have the most potential for moving forward with my education and career after I'm a nurse. So I turned down an LPN program and an ADN program at the community college, and now I'm finishing up my pre-reqs and application for the Accelerated BSN program at the big university. :) More pre-reqs, more money, longer time before I can apply and start, but I think it will be totally, totally worth it.

All of my eggs are in one basket... hope I don't drop it.

Same here.. only one application, but I like my chances!

I thought that two baskets are better than one until I realized that if I had just gone after my first choice from the beginning I would be in the program by now. :banghead: Needless to say I have to wait for the end of this semester before I can actively go after my first choice. My second choice and more time consuming was the community college route. Not only would I have to spend another $150 just on the application process but the current wait list is 2.5 years!!!! Going after two programs simultaneously has put me a year behind and $650 paid tuition for prereqs that I don't need. Time is money and I don't have the luxury to waste either one.

futurenovarn what school in va did you apply?

It worked... I'm in !!!!!

The only school that I applied to is 12 miles from my home; it's grads are routinely chosen over ivy league applicants; and the entire RN program costs $4700 ...with uniforms, books, and equipment included. I'm in heaven!!!!

Because I don't get any financial assistance I went with one college. I could not afford to pay for the pre-reqs for two or more different schools. I studied like crazy and kept a 4.0 gpa. I was accepted into the program for spring 2010! I start March 29th! :lol2:
