Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who has only applied to ONE program? I do not have a lot of options and wanted an Accelerated BSN, so there are only a couple schools near me that offer that. So I am anxiously waiting to hear from the ONLY school I applied to! Unfortunately, there really were not any other options for me to obtain a BSN, so I am praying I will get in! So it is out of my hands for now, I have applied, sent in my resume, admissions essay, letters of reference, and here I sit anxiously waiting to see if I get an interview and then waiting to hear if I am accepted. My GPA in the BS I already have is a 3.6, but I am just starting to the 5 science pre-reqs I need. I have all the math pre-reqs done thank goodness!
Anyone else??
ktothek, I am living in Fairfax, about 20 minutes south of you. Don't listen to those people, a 90 is great. I got a 92 but we only did, reading, vocab, math, and grammer. I too have encountered some haters on this website but I have also met people and read some posts that were very uplifting.
Every school is different is an understatement, I have heard of some nursing programs where there are 20+ credits per term. My four terms will go 11, 8, 9, and 13 credits. And I can take 4 of those final 13 credits during my summer break online! I can't imagine taking 20+, my heart goes out to those people.
Good for you Christy, I will never understand the lottery system. They do that back at Portland Community College, where I am from and I just don't get it.
Thank you :) I'm so excited!
I don't understand the lottery either. I've seen too many good students get passed over simply from the luck of the draw. What was especially difficult, was watching students that I had tutored through pre-req's get in before me! Talk about feeling burnt! Oh well - I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason. I'm in a program - I'm grateful :)
Futurenovarn,
I am well aware of where Fairfax is! Too cool! I agree, we must try and stay positive! I must confess, I actually made an 89.96! LOL! I am hoping they round up! Oh well. I know it is a pretty good score and you are right...ALL SCHOOLS are different!! Keep positive and try not to get down. 92 is GREAT! We WILL get in! Can't wait to hear all abut how you got in.
Christy1229,
Very inspiring! You got in based on grades and merit and not a lottery as it should be! CONGRATS!!!
I only applied to one bc the other colleges have too full a schedule and more required pre reqs. I will hear back from them mid February. If I don't get in this semester I figure I'll apply in the fall for their spring semester...I'm taking 4 years to get my ADN, but once I have that I'll only have to do a semesters worth of work at a university to get my BDN...community college is cheaper right now and works better with my schedule-so I too patiently wait for their answer--
Hello. I too am considering applying for one program because I already have a bachelor degree. I want to get in to Touro University's Entry-level Masters program. It is accelerated and will require a lot of work. If I have to I will consider other options, but for now one is it. I will be done completing my prereqs in the spring. It seems tough to get into nursing schools everywhere. I tried once to get into an LPN program in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and that did not work out because it was so competitive. Now that I have taken the time to take prereqs for RN and so far doing well. I am going to try in here in Vegas.

I thought I would post a little update...I have an interview for my first choice later this month, so I am super excited! Although I have no idea if they interview everyone who applies or not! After some more research, I do now have some backup plans as I found out my first choice has a very low admission rate But I feel hopeful that I have some other options, even though they are not as good as my first choice!

I'm also applying to only 1 program. There are programs in the area but none quite "perfect" for my situation than the 1 I'm applying to. I can probably apply to others in the time if I don't get this one..but I'm wishing...hoping..PRAYING...I get in to this one. We have to all stick together!! And as we get accepted, we have to let everyone know!
