I wanted to start a thread for all of the people who are waiting for the November ANC selection board, specifically if you have/waiting on the M5 identifier for Emergency Nursing. I thought we could suffer together and update each other while we wait. You are welcome to post if you have another specialty or none at all.
My status:
I have submitted all documents, and waiting on M5 identifier approval, physical approval and for the packet to make it past QA.
Yes, Happy Thanksgiving to all, especially those of you who have to work like me! My family and I had Thanksgiving starting Tuesday so no worries (They ate alot of it already, so this morning I am making more side dishes)...
Also, even though I am not applying to this Board, I am hoping for the best for all of you!!!! Enjoy your Turkey and be sure to pray for those overseas missing out this year.
Happy Thanksgiving all. One thing I have realized as a year can change a whole lot of things.
Just imagine that a year from now we all can be in uniform in a different city or place and thankful for different things. Everyone I know last year who were holding there breath for boards, waiting for orders and starting OBLC are now off at duty stations and settled into the military this year. :)
I haven't heard a THING from my recruiter yet. I just e-mailed him again today...I am getting really nervous. Maybe they said no to me right away because I will be a young new grad with no nursing or military experience =SSo anxious!
Don't get so anxious because you are not the only one that have not heard anything from recruiter..I have no idea if my packet already boarded or not..just keep your positive attitude:)
i'm hoping everyone had a happy thanksgiving and was able to spend some quality time with family and friends.
even all the comotion of the holidays isn't enough to keep my mind off the wait! i got a call from my recruiter last wednesday saying that the status of my packet had changed.. he said that it had changed from board ready to pending results or something along those lines. heres to hoping for good news!

"After reading the article, I felt a little better knowing that we are still in demand after all."
I received a letter from the Air Force saying they needed nurses, etc, etc. My wife is AD USAF and I know there are a few people leaving, so I called to inquire. The recruiter told me they overboarded, meeting this years quota with last years pool. "Call me in Feb for FY12 boards" Navy recruiter at the AACN NTI in DC told me the same thing. Yes nurses are needed, its just a matter of when. Something else to take into consideration, 80% of Army medicine comes from the Reserve side.
