  1. Don't let the answer "NO" let you down..if military nursing is your thing, then try another branch, Army or Navy...I am also new grad (May 2010) and selected as alternate in the Army..I plan to compete again the next board (Nov 2011), if alternate didn't work, but I realize I will only have a year and half experience as an RN...If you are currently working, your other option is to wait and gain more experience and get your certificate such as CCRN, ACLS, PALS etc..whatever you needed to do to be more competitive then try to apply again...If you are not currently working, I suggest to start applying at the civilian hospital in ICU, ER or OR department.. About the GPA, I am not sure if the Army or Navy care about the GPA..I have 3.55 overall GPA and selected as alternate.. About your issue when you were young, you said it is already clear right...but I am also not sure how those things work...other people who's knowledgeable about those issues will soon answer your question...stay positive!!:)
  2. @New1lt although im not in yet, i really enjoyed reading ur post :) i will defntly copy n paste this for future reference...goodluck to all of you....
  3. jerryundergard did your recruiter tell you that they wanting 10 people from OML with at least one year experience to go straight OR nurse? My recruiter told me that the Army will call 10 people from OML to be trained as OR nurse, but they want with at least one year experience. I am not qualified for that:D..give them a bit of time, maybe next month, maybe your recruiter will call you for that..goodluck:)
  4. Love the 2030! Retire..
  5. Yeah I am!!..I always check this site..One of my fav site because I can get lots of info.. Thank you for your email stripes2bars..Hope we will called to commission at the same time..stay safe!
  6. Thank you Sassy sailor for that information..I received a letter from the Department of Army saying "to congratulate you on your selection as an alternate for appointment as a commissioned officer ect..ect.. Positions for alternates become availabe through the declination of another applicant currently selected or as new positions are identified"... I thought it can only obtain when current selected applicants decline the commission..I never thought that I may be commision before next board as soon as new positions becomes available...Thank you for encourage Sassysailor..Like I said before, I am not discouraged.. I know I will be in the Army I just don't know when...I have good job in the CVICU to keep me busy while waiting..Thanks again!!
  7. There is possible that we can go active duty, but for what I understood, only small chance. Also, I know that OML does not need to re-submit the packet, but needs to compete again with the rest of the applicants for the next board..Do you have less than a year experience? My recruiter told me (I just said what he told me) that the board did not take any applicants with less than a year of experience..That's the reason I am OML due to not enough experience.. I will keep you inform promise! I need to PM you sometimes because I need to tell you something, but not tonight because I am just dead tired from work...I am encourage! I have lots of time to wait and gain more experience from ICU..:clown:Goodnight!!
  8. My recruiter called me again today, and he told me that the reason I am OML because of lack of experience.I am not expecting to get in even though I am OML..All I know, I have to compete again for next year which is I am okay with that to gain more experience in the ICU.. For everyone who got selected, congratulations:yeah: For those of you who will be with me again next year, goodluck to all of us..just do what you have to do and "live, laugh and love like today is your last":D

  10. I am OML too.Did you already know what sequence number you are? I asked my recruiter about mine and he said "it is still jumble up"...
  11. Thank you trauma!...I read more about the OML at Nov Air Force Board from the post of SFC Jimenez...I am okay to wait and gain more experience to get ready for next year:cool:...Good luck to everyone!
  12. OML here..GTG I have to work...just pass by:lol2:
  13. Hello! I have questions..My recruiter called me last night after bugging him through email :lol2:that I am Order of Merit list..I submitted my packet in the Army Nurse Corps active duty and OML November board result.. How OML works? Do I need to re-submitt my packet next year? How long do I have to wait? I am a new grad (May graduate) currently working in CVICU..I am 25 years old so I OML is not bad because I have a lot of time to wait..Any response will greatly appreciate. Thank you!:)
