ADN Fall 2011 Hopefuls!!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I wanted to start a thread for those of you who have or will apply to ADN programs for the Fall 2011 semester. I have started the process but I have completed my application yet. I am nervous and super stressed. Join this thread so we can vent together. Share our journeys into nursing school.

i'm also new to the post, and am an adn fall 2011 hopeful. i will get my "letter of fate" (as i call it) sometime this month.

i'm currently going crazy...i took the nln pax on feb. 17th, and we were supposed to get our results in the mail within 2 weeks. and...i still have not received my score! i'm going nuts stalking the mailbox!!!

my program only takes 30 students...so i'm very nervous!

congrats to everyone who made it in already, you must be so relieved!!!

Seeing wonderful news in this thread is so exciting! I'm happy for all of you! I can't wait to find out something (hopefully more wonderful news). :yeah:

Im scheduled to take the TEAS V april 18th (this the earliest they will allow us to take it)~! I have to have my application turned in by April 15th.

I start micro march 14th and I have to make sure my instructor emails the director as soon as I take my final with my final grade. We should know by the end of May who got in. If i dont get in I'll accept my placement in the LPN program that I deferred last year.

Good Luck with the Micro, to me it was was easier than A&P! :-)

Hope you get into a program! Glad you have the LPN as a back up!

I don't know about anyone else's nursing program but in Georgia, it is really competitive! There's no waiting list, if you don't get in you have to wait until next acceptance period. Most only take 40 to 50 people at a time and some are twice a year and some are once. Some take more but anyway I have all my prereq's and just took the pax exam and take the teas exam on April 21st. I still have to get some reference letters and turn in some other stuff. I applied to like 5 programs, three ADN and 2 bachelor's. I only have one class for my bachelor's degree, my second chemistry. It's all just waiting from here.....

this is how our programs are as well..no waiting list or lottery...you either get in or you dont and have to put your application back in for consideration. its all based on points...your teas, your gpa, and for some an interview.

The ADN programs here take 30 students and half admit 30 twice a year..the other half admit only in the fall.

my sister in law's program had 30 spots open, admitted once a year..they had 120 applicants...and actually only had 23 spots available because 7 students from the last class failed and had to start over from scratch and were automatically given spots in the upcoming class. her getting in is a huge accomplishment and we are very proud of her!!!

Good Luck with the Micro, to me it was was easier than A&P! :-)

Hope you get into a program! Glad you have the LPN as a back up!

thank you!

if i go the LPN route I'll be applying to a ABSN program for 2013 that takes LPNs with 64 credit hours. so im kind of excited for that route as well.!

I find myself a 'fall hopefull' as well cause i am applying this fall too lol

cross your fingers!

I've applied to four programs for Fall 2011 and received my first rejection letter last week (KU Med's BSN program). I feel better about the other 3 programs I applied to, and also, finding out that some of my current classmates who I thought had a better chance at KU also got rejected took a little of the sting out. Congratulations to everyone who's already received their acceptance...wish me luck!

besides nursing, has anyone considered other areas of healthcare for their career?
