I feel so behind to you all. Our semesters are really wierd. They didn't start till the end of Sept. you are all doing midterms and we are just 'getting started' pretty much.

BUT, regardless of that I am doing great.

We have a quiz every week in lecture and every other week in lab. So far my lab quiz I got 100, my first lecture quiz I missed 2 and then I got my latest one back today and I got 100; plus he gave extra credit (2 questions) they were from the previous quiz and I got both of them right. I am sooo proud of myself. I am trying so hard, so I'm glad it is paying off.

We have so far coverd the cells(nuclues, robosomes, golgi apparatus..etc.) and the basic beginnings of A&P.

today or I should say the beginning of this week started talking about the epithileum, connective, muscle and nervous; also more in depth on Skin and what not.

It is ALOT to take in :uhoh3: lol, hopefully I continue to do well.

our teacher is soo awesome. He seriously tests us on EXACTLY what he gives us in handout/notes.

I'm so glad I took him and no one else. I have a friend that is taking A&P here at the same school as me, but, wasn't able to get in with my professor and she is having a hard time with him, and not understanding him clearly or his notes and stuff. she says he has a "I don't care" attitude.

hope you all are donig well, keep up the great work :) we can do this :D

Yeah, I know what you mean. I had a dream that we were taking our practical and we were all confused becuse the stations kept moving without warning, and the instructors were in the back of the room laughing like doctor evil doing the pinky thing. Weird. LOL

O god, that's so funny!!! I know what you mean, they must have to do something to keep themselves occupied!

*snort

Hey, did you say "butt"? What are you trying to do to me??

Actually, I took some flashcards to church this a.m. ... I did take them out but was a little too paranoid to really use them .. thought someone might see. I studied them a bit when dh went into the store to get groceries.

I think I am just going to have to ditch the computer tonight and write out my notes .. obviously I cannot focus. LOL Thanks for the pep talk!!

I can't believe you took flashcards to church.....ROFL

Sorry I have another weak bladder moment....NURSE, NURSE !!!!

hey everyone! i know our school is a little behind compared to you guys.. we're having our first lec. midterm on friday. i'm a little freaked out cause i just can't seem to understand the chem. portion and cell metabolism :uhoh21: we had our first lab quiz on tues. evening & i got a B. i kept hitting myself over the head for it because i studied for hours & really wanted an A. But i made little mistakes and COULD'VE received an A but didn't. anyway i finally accepted it & i feel like my head is going to explode as i'm studying for the lec. midterm!! any suggestions on the cell metabolism and permeability & transport?? :)

Well, first of all, your "B' is a good grade. So don't beat yourself up over it, especially for the first test. It's hard on the first test until you know how your instructor does his tests, grades, etc.

Second, what do you need to know about cellular metabolism? I just finished that chapter, so if you have any specific questions, maybe I can help. It helps if you have someone who can explain it to you also. Do you have a tutoring center at your shcool? My school does, and they helped alot in explaining it to me.

Good luck

Hello Karen I am trying to become a premimum member for this site can you tell me how to get there. I can't seem to get past the orginial post to become one.

Thanks pixiedust37! Well I feel like I'm struggling with the whole chapter, but I'm going to go over it a few times before the midterm. The main part that I don't get is probably the electron transport chain. Can anyone simplify it for me? Maybe I'm just overthinking it. thank you!!

Ya know what? Our instructor told us not to worry about the electron transport chain!!! He said just to remember that 32 ATP are produced in that cycle, so I have no idea of what actually happens in that cycle. Maybe someone else might know. sorry

Okay, well for some reason I was unsubscribed from this thread so OOPS :rotfl: I guess I have some catching up to do!! Sorry! I didn't mean to drop a dancing skeleton and leave on you all!

i'm beginning to wonder what the point of testing is. Is it really to see if we are learning, or is it to punish us for being students. :o
Yuck, that does seem unfair! I hope you are feeling better about things by now!! I do think so teachers try to be tricky on purpose. Personally, I think that they should be trying to help TEACH us and help us succeed. Down with Dr. Evil!!

Hee hee hee ....... I know ... something a little weird here. Did I tell you about jumping up at camp when my son had cut his foot, saying, "Stand back! I'm a nurse ............... ing student!" (who cares if it wasn't technically true lol)

We have our first exam on the 26th and the lab exam is in December. ARGH .. kind of wish we were tested more often on smaller bits of information! I liked watching a few online animations of protein synthesis so maybe you would find something on cell metabolism and permeability, etc. on the same sites (see first post in this thread). Congrats on your good mark .. it is STILL good, yes!

Not yet. The letters are suppose to be mailed out by tomorrow. They actually close at 12 on Fridays, so I'm hoping they mail the letters then. That way I may get it tomorrow in the mail, if not then sometime next week.

After tomorrow, I'll be hunting down the mailman! :chuckle Thanks for asking! :)
