Wow - great job! Thanks for the wonderful organization!
I have just completed my first week with A&P I and I loved it. This coming week is chemistry though, so I'm nervous about that. Anybody else coming up on chemistry? I have a feeling this is where I'm going to need the most support.

thanks for putting it all together for us!
I want to add that I love the suggestion to make your own flashcards. This helps me so much, I write the question on one side and the answer on the other.

Cool!!!
I started my AP I last Saturday and we already done with the Introduction and General Orientation of Human Anatomy. Everything we'll learn from the book, our teacher thought giving us additional hand outs will just confuse us. He's really cool and makes is really simple.
Yes, I did the flashcards and re-writing some of my notes. I also have the AP puzzle book that came with my AP book package and I bought the Anatomy coloring book.
sddlnscp, we will be on the Chemistry part this Saturday. I'm done with Chem last summer hope I can still remember some of it :rotfl:

Oh good, at least I won't be alone. Perhaps we can wade through it together. :rotfl: Unfortunately, I don't have the Chemistry background, but hopefully it's not too in-depth, that way I can pretend I know what I'm talking about

well, i thought i'd start a new post per month to keep our a&p i thoughts straight. it'll at least help me; hope everyone else doesn't mind!!i counted 47 of us (see list below) ... please feel free to delurk whenever you need to or if i've missed you on my list, please don't be insulted! at least 6 people are doing the course online or through distrance education, at least 3 people have separate anatomy and physiology courses and several people are doing an accelerated course.also below the list of people, please see the tips and websites that have been posted already and/or the ones i have bookmarked (not yet sure what they all are btw). i start a&p tomorrow and i'm excited and slightly nervous, even if just because i am returning to school after quite a few years. i was nearly floored by the cost of the texts and likely wouldn't have bought the "extras" that i did beforehand if i'd have known how many required and recommended books there are for the course (they didn't offer a list beforehand that i knew of .... guess i could check next time!! lol). incidentally, one of the recommended books was the a&p colouring book so i was happy i had bought that one at the beginning of the summer!anyhooooo, good luck, everyone!___________2ndcareerrnmaybe, online coursea_troopers-girl, online courseamber74. online courseangelblue (cheryl)boinkbrandyl123butterfly82casicindermelly*daisy*erikaanngaylord fockergirlcalledjackgoingformydream (christina), taking a&p separatelygoodyear (melissa), taking a&p separatelyhayleyandkylesmomhollybear1414jasmineteajessvandyke (jessica), online coursejodyangelkayel (karen)labcat01, distance ed coursemiccimilazermtorado27mudnuri (brandy)myjessicanewonboardnurse_wannabe22nurse2b80nursecadetoldernurse2pinayflpixie-dust37prenurse0902 (nicole)rhp123roseyann (dawn)sddlnscp, online coursessixsullys, taking a&p separatelystpauligirlstudent4eversydylosympmgt (dave)thecoppertoptiffy_rn2bettgcole (nichole)youngagainrn2bpostponing a&p for now (but still in our thoughts and prayers):nicinnc_____________________useful study information/sites:anatomy modules: http://www.rad.washington.edu/anatomy/ examinations in pathology: http://medstat.med.utah.edu/webpath/exam/examidx.htmlhole's essentials of anatomy and physiology: http://www.mhhe.com/biosci/ap/holeessentials/human anatomy and physiology online course companion: http://occawlonline.pearsoned.com/bookbind/pubbooks/mariebhap/anatomy and physiology: http://mandevillehigh.stpsb.org/2005site/teacher_sites/laura_decker/biology2.htmljourney through nursing school (fun2care): www.nursingjourney.comfun2care's quizzes: http://www.nursingjourney.com/aandp_1_quizzes.html anatomy of the human body (gray): http://www.bartleby.com/107/master muscle list (loyola university medical education network): http://www.meddean.luc.edu/lumen/meded/grossanatomy/dissector/mml/index.htmmedical terminology: an anatomy and physiology systems approach, 2/e: http://cwx.prenhall.com/bookbind/pubbooks/fremgen4/ the hosford muscle tables: skeletal muscles of the human body: http://www.ptcentral.com/muscles/skeletal system: http://www.bio.psu.edu/people/faculty/strauss/anatomy/skel/skeletal.htmu of minnesota webanatomy: http://www.msjensen.gen.umn.edu/webanatomy/default.htm biodidac: http://biodidac.bio.uottawa.ca/the student nurse forum, coursework lifelines, human anatomy: http://kcsun3.tripod.com/id192.htm_______________other ideas (already posted):make your own flashcards!if you are not familiar with (or have forgotten) chem, check out an into to chemistry bookremembering the 11 organ systems:11 organ systems send mr. uric -- l s-skeletal e-endocrine n-nervous d-digestive m-muscularr-respitory u-urinary r-reproductivei-integumentaryc-circulatory l-lymphatic

remembering the 11 organ systems:
wow, you went through all this trouble! thank you very much
we already have the first casualties in our class..... at least 3 people have not been back in class. people also start to show up later, the enthusiasm is dying down. it's getting thick.....lots of stuff to remember. my eyeballs are spinning after todays lecture. he went on and on about carbohydrates, lipids, proteins. some people struggle with chapter 2 because they didn't have biochemistry. i offered to bring my chem book to lab on thursday because we always have free time to study after we are done with our lab assignment, and we want to start a study group. let's see how that goes. had good and bad experiences with study groups in the past. anyway, there is alot of information, and he is always saying: "class, remember, don't get behind, that's why people take this class over and over.....!" apparantly there are some people in my class who are taking the class over. i try very hard not to have to do so. it's truly frightening and i am working through the exercises at the end of the chapter, re-reading the chapter after the lecture (makes more sense because i don't always understand what the book says the first time i read it.) it'll take a lot to make an a, that's for sure!!!!
how is everyone here coping so far?

On my 2nd week online lecture/in class lab/Martini
Today we had our first quiz.We have one every week(10 questions)just to make sure we grasp the previous week. Now,I have a 3.9 GPA.But..geez this is at a whole new level! And Im told these first chapters were the easy stuff!:uhoh21:
I had no problem with chapter 1.You know when you are studying you have done everything except...a couple of things?
Well, those couple of things were on the quiz.yikes!
And I get the moron of the day award.
First question:What is the study of human structure?
a. anatomy...duh!
b.histology
c.physiology
d.all of the above....oh yeah I put this one!!!:angryfire
One of those questions where it was too easy it must be d!
The other 2 were on things I hadnt grasped yet.
So,I got a 70 on first quiz.Good news..we get to drop 2 lowest.
I told DH that Im locking myself in the bedroom and Ill open it in December!
Good news,Im understanding it,just need to do it faster!
Good luck this week....On to chapters 3 & 4:rolleyes:
