Thanks for organizing/cleaning up the thread! I'll let ya know when my house needs your attention LOL

Starting a/p today. Lecture 1030-1150 then lab 330-550. Should be interesting. I've read the 1st chapter in the text book twice, started some flash cards for words/regions I know will be on a test etc.

After reading it over a couple of times, Im seeing why we have a and p together...hopefully that will be a good thing.

I'll be back home late, but I'll post either tonight or tomorrow after psyc to let ya know how it went having both lab and lecture on the same FIRST day of the rest of my life LOL

Started A&P 1 last night.

Totally lucked out!!! The originally scheduled teacher quit and we got a new teacher. I had heard that the original teacher was very hard. No extra credit, not personable and based your whole grade on three exams.

This teacher is personable. Kind of a bit like Mr. Rogers, but I can take slow explanations over cracking the whip any day. He is helpful. He gives bonus material to help you increase your grade and we have 7 exams. Plus he offers optional comprehensive exams at teh end of the semester that we can use to replace a low test grade. I'm not saying his tests will be easy, but he gives study guides and I can handle hard. I just hate having my whole grade pivot on just a few exams. I am so relieved. I feel an A coming on. :)

It was basically just a course overview so not bad at all. The professor seemed very nice and non-threatening. The class was huge and next time I think I'll sit closer to the front and in a right hand desk LOL. Guess I'd better get at my first bit of reading now!

*SNORT, uh yeah! You should see my house .. I'm hoping dh is going to organize it while I'm busy studying!!

Cool!! Sometimes things seem to work out like that! Have fun with Mr. Rogers (lol really! I loved Mr. Rogers). He sounds very helpful!

Stuck on the Chemistry!!!

I am on Chapter 2 (Chemistry) and I am stuck there!! For some reason my brain just isn't computing all of this! *LOL*

Also, Anyone have a good link for Labeling Exercises?

Wow you did a great job on this thread!!! It is such a help.

I have a question iI heard some people take a&p online?

can anyone tell me through what colleges you can take a&p online?

thanks a million in advance!!

Aight 1st week is over!

I have the same professor for both lecture and lab, which seems to be like I thought, and a good thing. Lab counts for 25% of our grade so it's good that she's seeing me in both places.

We found out that our tests/exams are NOT going to repeat stuff. Once we're done with the muscles, we're done...no real final exam etc. Our last exam will be on the topic we are on then. This is a GOOD THING!

She seems great, very laid back, explains stuff well. She is having a chemistry open door session tomorrow and Tuesday for students to come in for 1.5 hours and have a refresher on the chemistry. She explained that its a big part of a/p so it's good to have a refresher. She's doing this for us, on our own will to go, and I think its GREAT.

She gave out some really good study, organization ideas during lab which will come in very handy I'm sure.

If things progress as they are after 1 lecture and 1 lab, I think I'll do okay in this class!

Sounds like you've got a really good teacher there!! That's great!

We have 3 "midterm" tests (10%, 20% and 10%), 2 lab tests (10%, 20%) and a Final (30%). Our prof said well-attending labs is the "fudge factor" to give you a few extra marks. I think it won't be too bad. I have to review the chemistry thing too .. argh!

I have read through the first chapter of the text in prep for tomorrow and next week's lectures and am working slowly through a few quizzes and the course study manual. It's coming together (also slowly lol) for me .. hope my family doesn't care if that's all I do anymore (study)!

one more question .. i have tortora/derrickson's principles of anatomy and physiology, 11th edition and it came with a link and code to the egrade plus. i can't log in with the code, however .. on the envelope it says "get it in this package, or pay for it separately" .. so i'm assuming i have to pay for it online?? [sheesh, too bad the $235 didn't cover that, if yes!] so has anyone used this and do you think it's worth it or is it just the text (looks like it from what i can see but maybe i'm not seeing the whole picture?)? here is the link.

thanks for any advice/explanation! i'm new to this whole online-version-of-every-text thing and/or cdroms with every text and am having trouble making sense of it all.

Jenna, I am taking A&P through Colorado Community Colleges online, and I know a few other members here use them as well...
