Hey everybody! I have not been on in a while so busy with school and sad to say Anatomy is my worst subject I am doing horrible and had failed the last two exams which brings me to an F for my midterm grade...4 exams and 1 final left two of the exams are this week Lecture exam tomorrow and practical lab exam on friday. My optimism is shot and I am so sick of talking to my professor lol he is so nice and wants everyone to do well and the class as a whole is doing pretty good only me and 5 or 6 others are failing so I am feeling like a failure right now and if I don't pass this class it will disrupt my whole plan for school because to apply to nursing all prereqs must have a C or above. I just have the hardest time retaining information remembering 30 things out of 75 is not good enough:o I keep praying I will do better.

Thanks this week we will be doing muscles in lab quiz as well as the next lecture exam which is friday. I wish you the best of luck if there is a will there is a way.:)

I haven't been on in a while just feeling kind of depressed I have been trying what I thought was very hard but Anatomy isn't going very well for me. This coupled with Psychology not going well is really making me wonder if I can succeed in Nursing. I feel like giving up a lot,but haven't dwelled on that as a final decision just yet...I really want this badly I just rather not cry about it anymore. I have used the resources available at my school and so far not good I get two exams back monday I am certain anatomy practical lab will be failed because I couldn't even fill out all 80 of the possible answers. God help me I am trying what I think is my best and praying everyday for the strength to get through this successfully.

TODAY IS DOOMS DAY J/K :rotfl: OK SO I HAVE MY FIRST EXAM TODAY I STUDIED SOME LAST NIGHT AND WILL STUDY SOME MORE BEFORE CLASS I WISH I DIDN'T HAVE PSYCHOLOGY BEFORE A&P BECAUSE IT'S LIKE I HAVE TO SWITCH MY MIND FRAME FROM ONE CLASS TO THE NEXT ANYWAY I HOPE I DO WELL ON THE EXAM WILL PROBABLY NOT FIND OUT UNTIL MONDAY. I AM TRYING TO THINK THE BEST! THE WORST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN IS I DON'T DO WELL THEN I CAN PREPARE EVEN MORE BETTER NEXT TIME...WHO AM I KIDDING I KNOW I WANT TO GET AN A! I CRAVE A'S AND AM NOT REALLY SATISFIED WITH ANYTHING LESS BUT I WILL DO MY BEST AND SEE WHAT RESULTS FROM IT. WE HAVE OUR 4TH LAB QUIZ ON TUESDAY I GUESS I AM KIND OF LUCKY MY LAB INSTRUCTOR IS ALSO MY LECTURE INSTRUCTOR AND HE IS A SEEMINGLY NICE PROFESSOR AS FAR AS HE ACTS LIKE HE CARES FOR US TO REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT WE SEE AND TALK ABOUT. OUR LAB WILL BE ON THE THIGH BONE AND AXIAL SKELETON STARTING WITH THE SKULL! EEEEK I AM GOING TO PRACTICE IN LAB LATER TODAY. WISH MY LUCK ON MY EXAM! CONGRATS TO THOSE WHO ARE DOING WELL AND I GIVE ENCOURAGEMENT TO THOSE WHO ARE STRUGGLING WE CAN DO IT!

Ok I checked my book and I said the wrong edition we have the 8th edition book and 2nd edition lab manual I believe. Actually my course is 14 weeks which is the whole semester for us and I guess we have so much work because we meet 3 days a week. My first lab quiz I sucked with a 4.5/10 the second one I just found out I got 9/10 and the third I get back next week I think I got a 7/10 I confused a couple of tissues. I have my first A&P exam on friday. He said to use our notes to study so I am hoping that I do well. I am so overwhelmed for our next lab the axial skeleton we will be tested on the thigh bone and on the skull! eek so many holes to memorize!

I will be making myself start studying for the quiz today and for the test a lil bit everyday through the week. Yes we are doing 6 chapters for the first exam to say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. We are using Marieb 6th edition also and I haven't used the disc yet I can't even remember if my book is used lol I don't think it is though. My professor happens to be a doctor and he says that most of the stuff on the test will be from our notes in class which doesn't reassure me I noticed we did skip chapter 2 so the test will cover 1,3-6 we have our class 3 days a week and only spent one day on chapters 1&5 the rest took two days.

A quick update I bombed the first lab quiz 4.5/10 saw that coming because it was something he made up and it tested us on the first week of stuff we learned but the rest of our lab quizzes will be oral. I took the second quiz Tuesday on Cells and felt a lot better I believe I got at least 7/10. We have another quiz on this Tuesday on Tissues and Skin I also have my first lecture exam on the 30th it will cover Marieb chapter 1-6 I believe. Anyone else using this book and would like to form an online study group let me know. Good luck to you guys I will be studying a lot this weekend especially since I also have my first Psyc exam this week.

I am really tired lol is all I can think but anyway A&P...Well we had our first lab quiz which will not be like any of our other lab quizzes he made this up because he needed and extra so he can drop the two lowest. Well he told us monday about the quiz and I had to take it on Tuesday. I studied but when I recieved the test I felt like running away crying...but I resisted the urge and just answered the two I knew for sure and the rest was matching so I guessed I am pretty sure I bombed the quiz. I assume we'll find out Tuesday which by the way we have our 2nd lab quiz we will have to name the parts of the cell nucleolus,lysosome e.t.c also we have to talk about the stages of mitosis our lab quizzes are oral. We start Histology(Tissues) This week and we don't have our first Exam for a few weeks. I am a little behind on my reading but I will get back on top of it this weekend(Forgot my book). Seems like there is not enough time in a day. I feel confident about the cell parts because me and this girl were quizzing eachother and I will study this weekend again in the book however the model of the cell is slightly different than the picture in the book. I really want to do well in this class they are suppose to have tutoring set up pretty soon so I will also try to take advantage of that if possible. I dunno if it is just my class but there are not many friendly types of people in mine or in my lab either it is hard to make friends so I try to search out people who are taking it just perhaps in a different class oh well I just really must do well and to me anything less than an A is a dissapointment because so far in my year of college I have only gotten less than that twice and I don't want to experience that again. Gosh this is so long I am sorry for rambling you guys thanks for reading! :rotfl:

Ok I hope I survive and thrive in this class I am pushing for an A had my first two classes of A&P this week. I will start having it 3 days a week. We have a possible total of 800 points 12 Weekly lab quizzes(drop lowest 2) 4 Lecture Exams,3 Lab exams and a final exam. Our first Lecture exam is sept 30th on Bone Tissues. Any tips for me I am ears or eyes lol. Good luck to us all I hope we all get through this with flying colors!

Well this is my first A&P class and I haven't had an exam yet so I am no expert but my instructor gives us notes to take during lecture and then we read the chapters I don't do highlighting has never been my style in school but as I said not an expert yet but I just rewrite my notes I took in class and then do the reading.

I have to retake my assessment test so I can take chemistry and stats in the winter.

The first day is tomorrow I still don't have my books yet Hopefully I can skim through it before class. I think we will be dissecting a pig fetus...something to look forward to :chuckle
