Journalists in Trumplandia will need to use burner phones.  That does decrease the chances that they get added to the shadow government Signal group chats, though.

Once again, this is a short-form forum. I have to edit.

Here's the thing I agree that the harassment of indigenous people by ICE is not, by itself, proof of anything. It IS a data point which, in turn, is part of a trend going back to the beginning of the European invasion. There are many, many such data points over centuries of European occupation.

Trump's racism has been documented at least back to the 70s. I also remember a campaign speech in which he promised to be 'retribution". He never met a contract or a promise he wouldn't break to serve his self-interest. With the likes of Steven Miller and the alt. right boys at his elbow, he's very likely to embrace the concept of ethnic cleansing.

50 years of nursing have taught me to pay attention to the little stuff. It could be a one-off, the start of a trend, or actual clinical pathology.

If it walks like a duck ...

You went from "it's ethnic cleansing,  pure and simple" to "he's very likely to embrace the concept of ethnic cleansing."

And, that's pretty much how it goes when Trump haters have to try and defend their hyperbolic rhetoric.

In an attempt to stand out, president Trump ignored the requested dress code to wear a blue suit and tie to the Pope's funeral.  Since the suit wasn't tan, there was no hyperbolic rhetoric about the curious wardrobe choice.

You asked, I answered. That you don't like the answer was predictable.

Has anyone noticed a pattern here? You seem to ask questions just to attack the answers, without offering any counter-argument of your own. What's your goal, here?

Let's not deflect and make this about me.  Anyway, I'm pretty comfortable with my record of offering counter arguments when necessary.

In this example, when one makes such an assertion it would make sense that they'd have something to back it up.  That what was not the case here.  And when pressed, the statement of fact that it was"ethnic cleansing, pure and simple" was walked back into just a simple crazy speculation of "he's likely to embrace ethnic cleansing".  No counter argument necessary.

The goal is to normalize abnormal and unacceptable things from Trump and his cabinet.  That's, at least, what it looks and reads like.

Addendum: Google "Stephen Miller remigration".

There is no plan for remigration.  Everyone who was born here will remind a citizen.

Your suggested Google search yields nothing.

If that is your objection to ending birth right citizenship and the thing that makes you concerned for ethnic cleansing,  then I'm happy I could put your mind at ease.

I found some stuff.  How much of an actual threat it is, is up for debate.

"Birthright citizenship is the biggest, costliest scam in financial history,” Miller ranted. "An illegal alien could come here nine months pregnant, or on a tourist visa nine months pregnant, have a baby. That baby is then declared an automatic citizen, which then entitles the entire family to come here and live here, and every one of them get welfare ... unlimited welfare, applying as the custodian of this citizen—so-called—child.”

Stephen Miller, the ghoul behind some of Trump's harshest immigration policies, reshared the post. "THE TRUMP PLAN TO END THE INVASION OF SMALL TOWN AMERICA: REMIGRATION!”

Quote

The Associated Press described "remigration" in 2019 as "the chilling notion of returning immigrants to their native lands in what amounts to a soft-style ethnic cleansing.” Remigration means not just deportation but the forcible return of non–ethnically European immigrants and their families, regardless of their actual citizenship. The horrific policy proposal is a direct response to the racist "great replacement" theory, which has been pushed by many right-wing U.S. politicians, including J.D. Vance.

It might mean he's talking about "mass deportation" and likes the word "remigration".  But before being elected he talked of removing citizens.  Doubtful he'll do this because the courts will stop him...oh wait.....

President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview with "Meet the Press" moderator Kristen Welker that "you have no choice" but to deport everyone who is illegally in the U.S., including possibly removing the American citizen family members of those deported.

Great!

It looks like Trump did use the term.  However,  the articles above and Heron want to use one definition of it that contradicts Trump's actual words, which were :

"return Kamala's illegal migrants to their home countries (also known as remigration).”

And, what is being ignored by Heron and those articles above is what Trump's EO actually says.  Ending birthright citizenship would only apply to those born 60 days and after the EO takes effect.

So, how does this all equate to "ethnic cleansing, pure and simple"?
