The economy was relative strong at the beginning of Trump's administration and now it's measurably more shaky. Our effective tariff rate is more around 18%, it was around 2% last year. This means that durable goods will be noticeably more expensive as time goes on. We are getting to the bottom of the inventory boost that the anticipated tariffs generated among importers.
Full effect of the tariffs will start to be noticeable for consumers goods end September into October, with some food prices sharply rising now: Vegetable prices up 40%. Thankfully, living next to NJ farms eating their seasonable produce minimal rise along with end of my garden supply.

This impacts Alaska heavily. Most of our retail produce is imported. However, a relatively high percentage of the population tries to be minimally reliant upon retail food sources.

Russia has already released a video that makes Trump look like a foolish old Putin fan boy who is easily manipulated by flattery. We know that Putin had some hard asks from Trump when Trump doesn't want to boast about his deal making in a presser.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who wonders about the desire for legitimate discussion from the members who sidetrack and sabotage discussion at every possible inflection point.
