I would love to hear what everyone is serving for their Thanksgiving meal, or making, or if you are going out to a restaurant instead (we have done this three times and it is awesome).

I am hosting just my sister this year, so there will be me, my husband, my sister and my two kids (9 and 11):

Turkey

Stuffing

Gravy

Mashed potatoes

Cranberry Sauce

Sweet potatoes/marshmallows (sister bringing)

Roasted brussles spprouts with shallots and bacon

Corn souffle

Crescent rolls

Peacn pie (sister bringing)

Chocolate silk pie

We always do bagels and lox for breakfast Thanksgiving morning. In our town, the HS football team plays the town next door at 10am. We always go to that game, then come home and eat around 1 or 2 PM. No appetizers or anything b/c we do it as a lunch. Then of course Turkey gobbler sandwiches for dinner that night :)

What do you do?

We ususally get together at my sisters house as she has the largest home! Its my Mom and her SO, my two sisters, one brother and all their kids (11 kids plus some are grown, so they bring along a guest) We always have lots of food, but mainly its -

Turkey and Ham

Mashed potatoes and gravy

Green Bean casserole

California blend casserole

hamburger bean hotdish

cranberries

dinner rolls

All kinds of pre-meal snacks like veggie trays and meat and cheese trays

Pies of every flavor!

We usually try a new board game or card game after our meal, some will watch a football game on tv. Most years we pour over the black friday ads and share Christmas wish lists.

Getting together with some friends - our contribution is a brisket - my husband will start cooking it in the smoker sometime on Wednesday. Normally we get together with my family but my mom just had major abdominal surgery and will not be able to host this year and I will be backpacking with a couple of friends in Big Bend NP Saturday-Wednesday so I don't have time to put together anything.

Headed to my sisters, bringing the squash (my son is a cook and the restaurant he works at makes the BEST butternut squash!!) The spuds and lots of wine!!

We will also do the mother/mother in law transport to and from their apartments.

Looking forward to a relaxing day!

What is California blen casserole and Hamburger bean hotdish?

My Mom makes them so I can't give exact recipes, but California blend casserole is cauliflower/broccoli/carrots with a sauce of cream soup and cheese. Hamburger bean hotdish is ground beef with different beans - kidney, butter beans, lima beans, etc. and some seasonings. Both very yummy!

I make the drive from MA to NJ with my husband to spend time with my family (I'm one of four kids, none of us have our kids yet). We then drive to PA to have dinner at my aunt and uncle's. My aunt cooks and she is an excellent chef.

I will admit, however, that I'm not looking as forward to it this year, given that I have very different political leanings than the rest of my family. I'm going to try and focus on the food and that fact that I love every one of them and to not talk about anything in the news at all.

We will get together with my family, and some close friends will join us as well. Will be probably between 50 and 60 of us. So, obviously there will be lots of cooks. We are thankfully having it at our church where we lots of room and a big kitchen. I usually make broccoli cheese casserole, scalloped oysters, fruit salad and whatever else happens to grab me at the time. We have lots of little ones (probably 20ish) and 2 new babies since the last time we were all together. There will be lots of love, laughter, music and very, very full bellies  I can't wait. :)

I am working at my other job but only until 3pm so not too terrible.

I will make desserts that can easily be kept in my car while I work and I think I will make an app and bring it to my sister's house the day before so she can set it out when people arrive. She lives only about 10 minutes from me and my work is in the same town as well so I'll be there by 3:15.

My house. Just me, my mom and the kids this year, as I'm in the middle of getting divorced and soon to be ex is working. I'll put a plate aside for him, 'cause he and the boys will be driving down to the UNC/NC football game later that day.

Turkey

Mashed

Sausage stuffing

Green been goop

sweet taters with marshmallows

corn

rolls

pecan pie (me)

pumpkin pie (me)

apple crumb (bought)

I cook it all, outside of the apple crumb.

We'll be with my in-laws. Myself, my husband, 2 kids, grandma, great aunt, MIL, FIL, and neice(she'll stop over at some point).

Turkey

Stuffing mashed potatoes

Asparagus

Green Beans

Au Gratin potatoes

sweet potatoes with marshmallows (I make this one)

and pies made by grandma and great aunt

Then my husband and FIL will have to wash dishes and then they'll fall asleep while watching The Godfather marathon that is usually on on Thanksgiving day.
