I start 8/30, but I get 30 paid hours over the summer for sports clearances and the like.

kidzcare was in NYC, but I didn't get a chance to see her!:down:

The Kid graduated. We are headed to take them both to college later this week!

Hope to see new faces, as well as my buddies! Missed you all!

By the way - I'm officially back at it now! I think Elton John sang a song about it.

Present----since August 18th when my school started. Lots of newer teachers at my school so I am training them as to what constituents a "visit" to the Health Office. Working on sports physicals and immunization reports. My eldest is at college and my youngest is in high school here. I also teach 9th grade health to the girls--fun times. Showed a great video on digestion---right before lunch. This group of girls get queasy fast so this should be a fun year

Heeeeeere! We started inservicing on 8/22 and school on 8/29. I have 100 new KN (!!!!) and 50 new from out of state...plus they re-drew the district lines and I have 50 or so from another elementary in our district. Aaaack! It's a lot, which is why I haven't been in yet.

On a personal note, I have a 1st grader, 2nd grader, and 4th grader this year, plus the baby in pre-k. Hubby started his own business in June and named me CFO. He fires me weekly at least. :roflmao:

I had an amazing summer and feel like I am starting the year off well. We have a new principal, associate principal, and new district superintendent and associate superintendent. It's a whole new era around here and it's looking good.

That's what I keep telling myself, at least. :rolleyes:

I also live in Maryland. We are mandated to start after Labor Day so the resorts can have an extra two weeks to pull in revenue.

Ms Love here. School nurse in NY state. Staff started 9/5, kids started 9/6. Sole nurse at a high school of approx 1400. These kids have started off with a bang and we are SO busy.

Ahh, the Kings Dominion Law... I thought that was a Virginia thing.

I am not averse to it. The western part of the state gives free community college to all graduates from the tourist revenue. That being said, nursing jobs in western Md., Pa. and W.V. are VERY hard to find.

Hello all! Sorry I am late to the school nurse party. The first 3 weeks of school are way to busy to hang out with you fine people.

My last RN (District Nurse) quit over the summer, and it sounds like the district was soooo desperate, they are trying to hire a new grad RN, with ZERO experience and no credentials as of yet, OH and she's currently living in VIRGINIA and we are located in CALIFORNIA!!! So I better get used to calling or emailing her! Someone come save me:roflmao:

First time SN poster; about a year-long lurker. :whistling: I started school August 9th and the kiddos started back August 16th.

First six weeks in the bag, and it wasn't too bad at my high school (around 2000 students and I'm the lonely-only)

I can't even imagine a caseload of 2000. Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning with my 400+
