Spring 2017 Chat

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Now that January is here, I thought I'd start a thread where we can support and encourage each other through our Spring semester, similar to our Fall thread, but with a bit more chit chat. What's your schedule look like? Any other goals you're working on?

I go back on the 17th, though I have a Phi Theta Kappa meeting on the 13th.

My schedule is:

A&P II

Microbio

Federal Government

World Religions

The last two are online.

Right now I'm trying to lose this holiday weight, so I've started running again (it burns). I graduate at the end of this year! In December I'll have my EMT-B certification and my Associates of Science in Biology. I'll also be applying to nursing school (application deadline is August 1), so it's going to be a really exciting (busy) year for me! I'm hoping to use my EMT-B cert to become an ED tech during the summers.

I look forward to chatting with you guys this semester!

That's SO cute! Do you mind if I follow you?

Oh please do! :)

I start on the 29th and the semester ends on August 7th. But yes!! I'm a little nervous because people say that phys is so much harder than anatomy. I didn't think anatomy was too bad but I can't imagine "so much harder."

Sweet! We shall be in this together! :) I didn't think Anatomy was too bad either. As mom always tells me, though, "Form your own opinions." haha I'm sure we'll both be just fine!

Also, question for you all: Did any of you have a heavy focus of immunology in your micro class? I'm struggling to fully grasp the adaptive immunity portion, specifically the CD4+ and CD8+ activiation and differentiation into CTLs with all of different types of T helper cells and the Ag-MHC I and Ag-MCH II complexes involved. This is the stuff she didn't teach us since we got behind but it's making up the majority of my exam on Thursday. *cries* Help?

Yes. We had an exam that was almost completely focused on immunology. It was torturous.

I am done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Took my last two finals today. I have three A's so far as my final grades. It'll take a while for my final A&P II grade to show up, but I'm confident that I got an A. Now I'm having a quick snack and getting ready for my graduation.

I'm literally about to shoot myself in the face. lol There's SO much info and it's definitely the hardest topic we've covered (or didn't cover) in class. A lot of Micro classes don't even touch immunology as it's a full course completely on it's own and I'm just like, why am I one of the unlucky ones?? Ok, I'll stop whining. lol I just don't feel like I'm going to do well on this exam at all and I hate that.

YAY JEN!!! I'm so excited for you! I followed you too but I rarely ever go on instagram, I can barely focus on facebook these days. But I love your dress!

Unfortunately crossfit, I think I was in one of the classes that brushed over immunology in micro, so I'm no help. I do wish you all the luck in the exam. You've come this far, you will do well.

I got woken up first thing by a recruiter asking to do a phone interview and we ended up setting an in person interview with a unit for early next week! EEEK! I'm so excited, so excited, so...scared! Hahah just like Jessie Spanoí ½í¸€

I'm a bit behind on messages, I'm gonna scroll back a few pages and catch up!

I have my Micro final, which is entirely based on immunology, in 3 hours. This is the most nervous I've ever been for an exam before, tbh. If anyone could send me good vibes or thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it!

Also, congrats on your graduation Jen!! That's amazing and you should be so proud of yourself. :)

I'm late now, but I hope it all went well!

And thanks :)

Good morning crossfit, how did it go???

Good luck with the EMT-B class. Use to be an EMR and took the EMT class a few year's ago. Failed the written exam and never took the test again. Figure the reason I didn't take the test again transitioning of jobs and moving to a new location.

Always think of going back to do it was a fun 3 year's volunteering for an ambulance company. Just don't know with prereqs and work I have time. Was looking at it as possibly taking a night per diem job on a rig or at an ER.

Thanks! I had a semester off because of the way my school's application requirements work, so I figured I'd do the EMTB cert, so I can work as a tech in the ER during the summers, or something like that. It can't hurt.

Hi everyone, I am super sad... took my Chem exam yesterday & I know for a fact that I did not do too well :( I have been maintaining an A all semester long and still have the freakin final to take in 2 weeks. I was really hoping for an A, but I think my grade will now drop to a B... UGHH.

Also, anyone in northern CA having a hard time enrolling into summer/fall classes?! Classes are full already, even waitlists! I PRAY I get into anatomy + micro this fall!!
