Spring 2017 Chat

Published

Now that January is here, I thought I'd start a thread where we can support and encourage each other through our Spring semester, similar to our Fall thread, but with a bit more chit chat. What's your schedule look like? Any other goals you're working on?

I go back on the 17th, though I have a Phi Theta Kappa meeting on the 13th.

My schedule is:

A&P II

Microbio

Federal Government

World Religions

The last two are online.

Right now I'm trying to lose this holiday weight, so I've started running again (it burns). I graduate at the end of this year! In December I'll have my EMT-B certification and my Associates of Science in Biology. I'll also be applying to nursing school (application deadline is August 1), so it's going to be a really exciting (busy) year for me! I'm hoping to use my EMT-B cert to become an ED tech during the summers.

I look forward to chatting with you guys this semester!

This semester I am only taking general Chemistry. I am applying for school in February for the fall! I am also trying to lose some weight this year since there is a new gym opening up on my street the 17th. I'm excited to see what this year has in store for me.

This is so cool! So, okay, I'm taking a&p2, micro, nutrition, and lifespan before I graduate. My last two classes are online as well. I'm applying to nursing school this month. If I don't get accepted for the fall 2017 semester, ill be renewing my emt b and finding a job working as a medic/er tech until I can get accepted. I had a baby almost 4 months ago, so as soon as this spring semester starts back up I plan on getting back into the gym and trying to drop about 30lbs. That may be a bit excessive, but we will see what I can do. Our goals sound pretty similar!

I am taking Anatomy, Lab and Intermediate Algebra. I just took my NREMT a week ago (and passed! Whoohoo) and still undecided if I actually want to do anything with it. I kind of have interest in working on a truck, and a friend of mind who works for a transport company said he put in a good word about me to work there..he says it's extremely laid back, and I can work very, very part time (which is what I am leaning towards) I want to take full advantage of open lab days and study time/groups with my Anatomy and I don't want work to interfere with that. I don't need a job, so it just comes down to getting some experience and a little bit of extra cash....he said that I would have plenty of down time to study ...he said he considers his days working there as his relaxation days ..it's tempting. I am also keeping in mind that come summer, I'll be taking Chem and lab and will need to be on campus 4 days a week for class and lab.

Okay, I'm rambling..sorry!

As of right now... Anatomy, Lab and Math. No job. :)

Hello! New to this forum!

Applying to a nursing program that starts this Fall. This semester I'm taking:

A&P II

Microbiology

Lifespan development

Science of nutrition

Have the HESI A2 next week, and I only get one time to take it... Can only do it every 365 days (for my school anyway) :wideyed:

Ready for this semester to start!

Heather

Hi everyone!

My name is Dalaney and this fall I will be taking A&P II, Statistics (so nervous for this one), and 3 online sociology and pysch classes.

I actually will be applying next week for the Fall 2017 BSN program and hopefully I get accepted! Though I'm kind of in a bind since I will be a transfer student and need to find housing options 3 hours away from me and I'm new at this (stayed with parents for my years at college). I am also kinda worried weather or not my credits will transfer. Though hopefully 2017 will be my year and it all works out nicely for me!

Also thank you @ItsThatJenGirl for making this thread

Hey guys. Hope you all had a great Christmas break. I enjoyed mine and used the free time to get back in shape. I had no time to workout as much as I wanted to last semester. This spring semester I'll be taking my last prerequisites before applying to nursing school. The deadline is March 1. My goal is to get a 4.0 GPA again this semester, kill the Kaplan entrance exam next month and ultimately get into nursing. The classes I'm taking are:

AP II

Microbiology

Spin

British Literature (Online and self paced...yay)

Good luck to all of us.

Specializes in Family Clinic.

That is exciting! I have always wondered what it would be like to do EMT work.

This semester is cram packed! I have:

Anatomy & Physiology 1

Biology 2

Microbiology

Composition 2 (online)

Quantitative Reasoning

I am working weekends as a CNA. I just took my HESI A2 and made an overall 88.4% but since I haven't taken A&P yet I did not make a sufficient enough score on that section and will have to repeat it. I practiced a lot and used the pocket prep app and the hesi study book but none of the questions I had on my exam were covered in either of those. It was really strange and I felt like I was guessing everything. Anyways, I made a 96 on reading comp, 98 on vocabulary, 94 on biology, 88 on math, and a 72 on A&P. I scheduled to retake it just in time for me to turn in my application before the priority deadline! It also had a personality quiz which told me I was creative and a people person (LOL not really but I guess it would think that!) and it had a learning style section that said I was a kinetic and an analytical learner. I literally had 30 minutes of sleep before I took the test so I assume that may have had some play in it as well lol.

I go back to classes on the 11th. I am already working on my anatomy book and have been reassured that all of my professors are really great. I'm actually looking forward to this semester. I should find out if I make the nursing program between March or May.

My hubby bought me a stethoscope and a BP cuff too

A&P 2

Microbiology

Psychology

Statistics

This will be my last semester of pre-reqs and the pressure is ON @_@.

I got straight A's last semester - every test, paper, exam, quiz, whatever; all A's, and I strive to do the same again this semester.

I need my 4.0 GPA, I need the Dean's list... D: And I really have to get off my butt and finish studying for the NLN. . . haha x_x; I've been enjoying this winter break too much.

I won't make the deadline to start the nursing program in the fall, but I'll definitely make it for spring... Just gotta keep that GPA sky high and stay disciplined! @____@

Good luck to you all

I'll be taking:

A&P II

Stats

African American Literature

Intermediate Spanish

Classes start for me on the 17th, and after this semester I'll have one more semester before applying for the nursing program! My cumulative and science GPA are both at a 3.5 right now and I plan to bump it up as high as I can before it's time to apply! And I've gained a few pounds my fall semester that I also plan on losing. Good luck to you all!

So many people taking both Micro and A&P in the same semester! Good for you guys!
