Now that January is here, I thought I'd start a thread where we can support and encourage each other through our Spring semester, similar to our Fall thread, but with a bit more chit chat. What's your schedule look like? Any other goals you're working on?
I go back on the 17th, though I have a Phi Theta Kappa meeting on the 13th.
My schedule is:
A&P II
Microbio
Federal Government
World Religions
The last two are online.
Right now I'm trying to lose this holiday weight, so I've started running again (it burns). I graduate at the end of this year! In December I'll have my EMT-B certification and my Associates of Science in Biology. I'll also be applying to nursing school (application deadline is August 1), so it's going to be a really exciting (busy) year for me! I'm hoping to use my EMT-B cert to become an ED tech during the summers.
I look forward to chatting with you guys this semester!
Hi everyone! My name is Dalaney and this fall I will be taking A&P II, Statistics (so nervous for this one), and 3 online sociology and pysch classes.
I actually will be applying next week for the Fall 2017 BSN program and hopefully I get accepted! Though I'm kind of in a bind since I will be a transfer student and need to find housing options 3 hours away from me and I'm new at this (stayed with parents for my years at college). I am also kinda worried weather or not my credits will transfer. Though hopefully 2017 will be my year and it all works out nicely for me!
Also thank you @ItsThatJenGirl for making this thread
You're welcome!
Statistics was a challenge for me, but I took it online, which was a big mistake. It's not a good class to self teach, but I don't think it was hard overall. Good luck!
I'm a former senior nursing student. I dropped from Peds and OB bc I was dismissed for failing a dosage exam.
I plan to finish prereqs for other programs and apply in spring for their Fall semesters of 2017.
I'm gonna apply to:
Athens Tech
University of N. GA
GA State
Kennesaw State
Chamberlain
Hopefully I get into one this year!
So many people taking both Micro and A&P in the same semester! Good for you guys!
I did that last quarter and it was a tough one, but very doable! I love it when similar class materials overlap or can be easily linked together. I just finished my first week of Winter quarter and I'm taking the following classes:
After these classes are done in March, I can apply in April for my school's Fall 2017 nursing cohort. :) I'm so excited, I treated myself to a TEAS study guide this Christmas and have started brushing up on everything.

I think it's pretty doable as long as you can effectively manage time well. A&P didn't take much of my day as long as I was actively studying and not looking up cat pictures online.
Quizlet is a godsend for quizzing on terminology (plus the app is amazing and you can use it on your phone for studying on the go~!). One of my best purchases though has been a whiteboard (got a decent sized one from costco for like $20). It makes brainstorming and organizing ideas so much easier.
Also - Netter's Anatomy Coloring Book. $15 from amazon, great excuse to break out the crayolas and relax/study at the same time
I'm taking A&P II and nutrition. I usually only take one class each semester, but my always-homeschooled kid asked to go to school in December! It has been a big change, but really wonderful for all of us. There's a tiny progressive, independent private school nearby and that's what we chose.
I've used the break to clean and organize the house so I can hit the ground running in a few weeks.
On the Saturday before my Sunday class starts, I'll be at the Women's March in DC, but we're taking an overnight bus home so that I can get to class in the morning. I won't be tired at all...

Oh how fun (the march!). I'm glad your kiddo is adjusting well to school. I broached the topic with my girls and got resounding NO's. So back to the grind here.
My financial aid just posted, I'm so getting pretty excited to jump in this semester!
I'm really nervous for this semester, it's definitely going to be my hardest semester yet. My schedule is:
A&P 1- 8 week course
A&P 2- 8 week course. These will be back to back (1st half of semester, then 2nd half)
Lifespan development
Spanish
The last two are online. For 2 months of the semester I will also be taking a phlebotomy course. I haven't set up my TEAS test date but I will be taking it towards the end of the semester, so I will also be doing a lot of studying for that. When the semester ends, I will apply for the nursing program for spring 18.
Good luck to everyone this semester!

I am - I'm a little nervous, but I did really well in A&P I and I have the same teacher for A&P II. I've heard great things about the Micro teacher (she was recommended by my A&P teacher), and my A&P teacher said she thinks I can handle both based on my performance. So I decided to go for it!
I'm happy to have people to chat with this semester! Good luck to all of us!
