Published

well, it's about time to start this thread, i think!! let's get our bearings and see who all is in the same boat in january!

i finish up the first half of a&p with a comprehensive exam on december 13th and then it's right into the physiology portion of the course. we actually are starting special senses this week and next but will only get the first chapter done.

so .... who else is in? when did you take a&p i and how is your course set up? do you have the prof you want and are you looking forward to it?

i will include the sites from the a&p i thread that might be helpful! i will add/subtract as i get a chance to look through them a bit more or if anyone else suggests some good sites.

I found this website the other day. Just wanted to share with you all.

Well I survived the first test of the semester- After cramming until 3 this morning!!

Julie- I think (and am hoping) that that was my wake up call to get into the grind of studying! I think I did okay and she gave us a 15 pt extra credit so hopefully that will offset my stupid answers!

I woke up this morning dry heaving and having an acute glaucoma attack and it mostly my own fault for being up so late! Still painful too.

Future Nurse- thank you that is an awesome site with some great resources! I will be sharing that with my class next week!

Doing ok so far. TG for some extra credit points...whoever said A&P2 was easier is nuts :chuckle: but even with it being harder, I am just putting more effort in it this semester and I still think I'll pull a A in the class. :D

lab is fairly easy though...I am enjoying it more this semester since we are actually doing more stuff :)

Good luck everyone and keep up the great work.

You welcome!

I survived two exams last night, lecture and lab in one day. I woke up at 4am yesterday morning after 9 hours of sleep. It was a good thing because I was able to review for the lab. I think I got one wrong in lecture out of 42 questions. I know I did well on both essays and the extra credit points. So I should get at least 100+. The lab, I missed about 5 questions, but got 8 extra credit points, I should have at least a 94. I will wait until Monday and see how I did on lecture and Wednesday for lab.

Few things to remember, you have to eat healthy, get enough sleep and dont fall behind. When I study, I make sure I eat well, some extra proteins for the brain (protein bars), multi vitamins, fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water.

I see people drinking alot of coffees, eating donuts or drinking sodas. Wrong foods for the brain.

Congratulations Nurseto-be-joy!
Thanks! I have a quiz tonight on the heart. It's all multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank, thank God. Our first quiz had 2 mini-essay answers. I am really loving this class. It's not as boring as the first semester, I have a great teacher, and there are 2 nursing students in my class that I love talking with.

argh! Quiz today------ I put superior inguinal lymph node instead of superficial inguinal lymph node. I swear those two words were just invented to play with my emotions:uhoh3: :roll

We only have two tests that count for 60% of the grade :uhoh21: . I'm a little worried that I won't do good on the midterm and that will bring down my grade. I need an A in this class to keep up my gpa. If the teacher doesn't give you any idea about what is going to be on the test, how do you study? I have been studying, but I'm not sure what I should concentrate on.

Have you gotten your grade yet, or do you have to wait until next week? I got my butt in gear last night after reading what you wrote and I got more studying in this morning. Sorry to hear about all your yucky symptoms:(

I only got a 70 on a quiz today. It had 5 matching questions on lympahtic trunks, lyphatic vessels, lympahtic this, that and the other and it was on an overhead...it made me feel kind of crazy because I couldn't cross off stuff I'd already used and we only had maybe 10 minutes to finish. Finally I just said screw it and handed it in.

But I wouldn't have even gotten the 70 if I hadn't started studying seriously again, so thanks for the warning!

And congrats to all of you who are doing so well...way to go!!!

We start the lymphatics next week but I just outlined the chapter today (Just finished it). I told you that test and all that studying scared me!!! Plus I don't want to make myself have another glaucoma attack from staying up all nite. Still painful today.

I don't know my grade but I will be surprised if it is less than an A- as I knew most of the stuff and should have gotten all 15pt of the extra credit. I keep thinking I forgot to finish the answer but I'll find out Weds. There were only a few questions I had no idea about and two I know I got wrong as I re-read looking for the answers after the test. How was I supposed to know Lymph vessels have valves too- we start that chapter next week! I think she was trying to see who reads ahead!

Now I need to crack down on the darned veins and arteries although they dont look as hard as I thought they did before.

Have an awesome nite!

Wow, I'm impressed! How long did it take you to outline the chapter?

The veins and arteries really aren't that bad. We had a bunch of them to learn too and they scared the you know what out of me right up until I took the test, but that's the lab I just got the 101 on, you'll do great.

Hi, I havn't posted anything in awhile so I thought I would jump in. I had my first test yesterday and I stuck around to see what I got. I ended up with a B which I was happy with, but of course an A would have been better. This class is sooooo boring though. My class is set up different than most other peoples. I took Anatomy last semester and this semester is just Physiology. We started back at the cellular level and went over chemistry(Yuck!), histology, and then skipped to metabolism. I liked Anatomy so much better than this class. It didn't help when my teacher cancelled lab last week and ended up lecturing for 4 1/2 hours. I thought I was going to die from bordom. Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their class more than I am, on a better note I really like my Micro class.
