Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

well, it's about time to start this thread, i think!! let's get our bearings and see who all is in the same boat in january!

i finish up the first half of a&p with a comprehensive exam on december 13th and then it's right into the physiology portion of the course. we actually are starting special senses this week and next but will only get the first chapter done.

so .... who else is in? when did you take a&p i and how is your course set up? do you have the prof you want and are you looking forward to it?

i will include the sites from the a&p i thread that might be helpful! i will add/subtract as i get a chance to look through them a bit more or if anyone else suggests some good sites.

~ karen ;-)

I need to take a moment to whine and rant.

So I have to write a paper 1.5pgs on a topic of my choice from the material that is on the upcoming test (Heart and Vascular System). We have to find 3 articles and compare and contrast them, then sum up how they fit in with what we've learned in class. I assumed this would be easy. There are tons of articles out there. Boy was a I wrong! I've spent the last 2 days searching for articles on on hypovolemic shock. I've finally found a couple of really good ones. Problem is they are all 10-20 pages long. How am I suppose to fit that in only 1.5 pages? :uhoh21:

Do you have to use journal articles or can you use magazines? I would imagine sources that target the general audience (ie. Reader's Digest, CBS's "Health Watch," etc) would have shorter articles. :)

Any would work. Just has to be 'reputable' articles. As I'm a procrastinator I did all my searches online. I hit infotrac, findarticles.com, and a couple other on the school site. I think I'm good now, I just have to narrow down what it's on and do a lot of crunching.

Wednesday, I have lecture and lab exams for A&P 2. The exams will cover the endrocrine system and male reproduction. I hope to do well on both exams.

Hey all- I got the Cd's on A & PII that I ordered today and have been listening to #1 over and over. I have to say it was worth the money!! I will be playing them in my sleep!

They are called Audiotext Biology on Disc Human Anatomy & Physiology II. Amazon carries them and I think qualifies for free shipping but I ordered from a different site.

I got a 101 on my lab practical and an 88 on my lecture for cardiovascular, heart and circulation. Of course I was thrilled with my lab grade, but I was almost as happy with the lecture since I went in thinking I might get a 70%

Hope the lymphatic and respiratory section we just start goes as well.

Wednesday is the big test on Chapters 13-15 of Hole's 10th!! I hope I do as well you all have done! Been using the study guides online this semester and hopefully they will help some- it seems harder for me to get into study mode lately!

Good luck to you on Wed.! I also have had an extremely difficult time getting my groove on this quarter. I'm not even sure why?

Julie- I just wish I could figure out what it is!! Hopefully I will get my butt in gear and start acting like the honors student I am but at the moment I just don't feel like it.

I got a 92 on my first test. I ran into my A&P teacher yesterday while at Micro and he looked up my grade so I didn't have to wait for tonight. I'm pretty pleased with it. I know I could have done better, but an A is an A.

Congratulations Nurseto-be-joy!

Kukajoo- Heck if I know...I studied at least twice as much last quarter and even enjoyed it most of the time. Now I really have to force myself, it seems like my head isn't all the way in the game at the moment. I'll be believing for us to get re-motivated though, because it sounds like we both need it. Good luck tomorrow!
