Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

I realized that, I checked the visa bulletin. It was almost current last month, but I don't know what happen. The lawyer I spoke to said sonetimes that retrogression does not even stay like that, it changes all the time. Anyway I will just have to renew my TN everytime until I can be qualified for EB2 , because im planning to take MSN informatics. Thank you.

Hi I just have a question re the use of EDAS from CGFNS in lieu of requesting TOR from the school. I'd like to know how you went about it.

Did you just request EDAS from CGFNS and have them submit to Cali BRN? How about the Request for Transcript and BREAKDOWN OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL NURSING PROGRAMS forms from Cali BRN, is there a need to send those forms to CGFNS as well?

Thank you in advance guys!

You need to check with the BRN that they will do it this way as they may want you to send documents to them and not use CGFNS

I used EDAS from CGFNS it takes 1 week for them to send your TOR. It is also at the BRN website under the application for examination page, they accept TOR from CGFNS. But make sure before asking them (CGFNS) to submit your EDAS, you have all your documents i.e application, SSN, copies of diploma, RN license, livescan to BRN. Because they just keep your EDAS on file for 3 months. Good luck and prayers.

Btw, one more question. When you request for EDAS from CGFNS, is there still the need to submit some forms/documents to them or they (CGFNS) just make use of the stored TOR/School credentials that were submitted to them before for VisaScreen purposes?

Hi fellow nurses. This thread has been very helpful to me, thank you for sharing your experiences to us. I have a question, what address did you use in forwarding your school documents? Should I use registered mail (through post office) or through courier like LBC, FedEx.. I hope you could help me. Thank you in advance.

Hi there!

I got this info from the BRN application:

Mailing Address:

Board of Registered Nursing

P.O. Box 944210

Sacramento, CA 94244-2100

Street Address for overnight or in-person delivery:

Board of Registered Nursing

1747 North Market Blvd.,

Suite 150 Sacramento, CA 95834

Since it is a P.O. box address, the only way to send in your documents is through the Post Office either registered or express mail - due to the fact that it can be tracked  I have tried many times sending documents through Phil Post - registered / express to the US and somehow they all got delivered to the addressee hehehe

Don't worry much about sending mails into the US 'cause their postal service is quite efficient as far as I'm concerned.

Good luck there

Thank you jbc76! God bless you.

Hi, i like to ask my case, passed nclex 2007, just arrived this March 2015, Last week I called the BRN, they cashed my check april 10. How many weeks can I still expect for them to issue my license? because everytime I call them they just tell me to call back in 8 weeks. The waiting is really tiring and making me sick. Can anybody share their experience. thanks

I passed Nclex in 2007 too and will arrive Ca on June 2015. A friend told me it took approx 3mos before he received his license.

You may have an issue if you haven't practiced in the past 8 years and may need to reapply and retake the NCLEX

Thanks @margauxfd ☺️ Is 3 months from the time the application was sent or from the time the check was cashed. Thanks☺️
