Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

yes, thats the correct website. its expected that there would be a no record found if you search your name for a license since the board haven't issued you one yet. you have to be very patient while contacting the board tho, sometimes they can put you on hold for a long time but then, due to thousand of daily inquiries, you should be able to speak with someone then ask for the status of your application. Goodluck!

how about the concurrency rule? i graduated bsn on 2007 , do u think i will be required to take additional 30 units?:(

thanks

HI guys the thread had enlighten me regarding my NCLEX status.. i passed last 2007 and i haven't got the chance to give them my SSN. Hopefully i'll be having the same luck as you guys did getting your CA licence.. i'm currently accomplishing all documents that needs to be send to the BRN.

yey finally got my license! thanks to this forum... i learned so much from this thread. to God be all the glory:up:

Congratulations Electra! I guess it really takes more time for them to process if the fingerprinting was done manually than the livescan. Because the BON cashed out my payment last january 5. And i just hope that they really accept the EDAS for my transcript from CGfnS. Until now i haven't heard from them... I guess i will have to wait patiently..

btw, this forum is really awesome... I've been following this since dec. last year.

My license was just issued this morning. It just really takes longer for manual fingerprinting. Thank you again for this forum and for all those who shared those experiences.

Hi francis, i saw your post sa all nurses.com...i have the same situation as yours. I Passed nclex-rn last 2007 and it expired on 2012, no SSN. I did not endorsed it as well to the other states.

Do you think i will be affected by the new concurrency rule? Do you think i will be able to obtained my license once i arrive in the states?

my pass letter is also more than 8 years already.am really worried . Do you think they will aske for a refresher course?

Hope you can give me some info.

Thank you very much.

I am new in this thread,I was reading it all along and helped me a lot!! BIG TIME!! Thanks to God almighty!!! I want to share my experience.. I graduated in the Phil BSN and RN 1993, passed Cali NCLEX 2008 while in Canada. In short, did not get Cali license due to SSN issue. I trasfered my pass letter to Vermont (2008) and license was issued because they don't require SSN that time, but not now. Although I know there are still other state who does not require SSN. Then I became Canadian citizen Nov 2014 and able to get a job offer here in Sn Fran. SSN was issued Jan 2015. Because of this thread it made my application timeline fast. I submitted my application along with the copy of SSN, NCLEX pass letter,Diploma, Board Certificate (because they were asking for my PRC ID license which I do not have but luckily I have my board certificate with picture) TOR were sent by CGFNS thru EDAS.

I also believe, what made my application timeline fast is my effort because I went to BRN weekly every friday 2 hr drive from Sn Fran just to follow up. Here is my timeline......

Application submitted in person and paid cash February 27,2015

License Issued April 10,2015

RN license ID card rcvd April 15

To everybody PRAYERS is the most powerful tool!!!!

I would also like to take the opprtunity to ask those who got their RN license if they know a facility in Sn Francisco that sponsor Nurses for green card? Thank you

Congrats on your license pursuit!

Just a bit confused on the sponsorship need, is this for yourself or someone else, as you stated earlier that you have a job offer.

It is for me. I am here as TN visa as Canadian meaning work permit renewable every 2-3 yrs depending on your contract. Please let me know if there is a facility that sponsor for green card thanks.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

You are likely to have difficulty with anyone other than your current TN sponsor as you are going to one of the most highly impacted areas in the country for nurses. TN visa costs the employer nothing but time to complete a letter and await your return from processing. An EB3 would be based on your country of birth not second citizenship. If you were born in the Philippines for example the EB3 visa has been retrogressed to a 2007 priority date
