Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

Hi larret,

Thank you for your reply. I already submitted a new application and send my pass letter, copy of SSN, copy of diploma and nursing license from Phils. My school sent the breakdown of education and transcript to the BRN.

Then they emailed to say that I need to submit an international diploma verification from DFA. I called them to say that I already passed the NCLEX in 2009. Is this a new requirement from them? Can this be waived?

Well thats a new requirement from the BRN. When I did mine 5years ago I only submitted a certified true copy of my school diploma. Requirements change, I guess you just have to follow what they want.

Maybe call the Philippine embassy and ask if they can do this verification for you?

Can anyone help please? I passed  CA NCLEX RN in 2009, no SSN that time so didn't get license. I transferred my score from california to oklahoma but didn't get license from oklahoma either. Now I got my SSN and reapplying to get my license in california. I passed all requirements including the pass letter but then my analyst emailed to say that there's no record that I pass the CA NCLEX. My question is: where can I obtain a verification that I pass the NCLEX? thanks for any help.

Hi,

I would like to ask if anyone experience this ... I passed Ca NCLEX RN in 2009, no SSN that time so did not get license. Transferred score to another state but did not get license either. Now I  have my  SSN, applied to Ca to get my license, was advised to apply by licensure by examination, I submitted all the requirements, then my analyst stated that my situation is different due to the fact that I don't have a license in any state and that I can't apply for licensure by examination as I already passed the NCLEX and that I can't apply for endorsement either as I didn't have a license to endorse. Very confused here! Now she (analyst) was asking me to have my score transferred back to CA and only then they will continue to move on with my file/application.

Any thoughts, help, advise, support will be greatly appreciated.

how can you take NCLEX without ssn?

Hi everyone. I passed the NCLEX last 2010 and I got my SSN last year. I submitted a new application along with the other requirements to the Board last January of 2023. The first week of this month they requested a copy of my SS card through Breeze or mail, which I promptly sent. How much longer will I have to wait before they take any action and when can I call for a follow up? Thanks everyone!
