Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.
My questions are:
Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?
What happened?
Did they release your license or not?
If yes: How long did you wait for your license?
If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?
--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.
My school submitted the transcript, breakdown of educational program amd program verification from the Dean. However, they did not send the RLE. Now the school wants me to request next week, then wait til it's completed and sent to the board and for the board to process it. I think mine will take so many months. There are so many delays I'm so frustrated now! But so happy for you after a long wait you'r licensed already!
Hi! I requested the TOR from my school but they dis not send the RLE. What happened to yours? Did you ask the school for the RLE? Did it cause delays?
I did not have any issues with my school. They sent everything. You shouldn't have to because you already passed the nclex before. But the school has to send in everything that BRN ask. there are 2 forms that the school has to fill up, the transcript form and breakdown form.
Like I said the thing that caused me so much delay is the wrong address that the BRN entered on their file.
Be mindful that the BRN will only process your application if your documents are complete and every letter sent in by you or by your school will cause delays because they based the dates in which they received documents from applicants to the processing times on their website. So if the last document received by them is say September 5,2018. you will have to wait until processing times are current. so it usually takes 3months from the time they received the last document before you see any changes. Check the BRN's website every monday for processing times, they udpate their website every monday. on some occassion they do it on wednesdays.
I advise to check your breeze account 2x a wk. Wait for atleast 4wks before you call them for updates, and when you call ask them what documents are pending. But ususally the also do update it on your breeze account.
Your status should change into "pending" again once they review your recently sent documents. Processing
times right now are July 1-15,2018. you're looking at a minimum 2-4months wait time. Lucky you you're close to sacramento, If I were you I would just hand deliver whatever the BRN ask in the future.
Thank you so much for the very detailed message. My receipt date is Aug. 3rd so I'm probably looking at 2-3mos or longer. But I'm glad all nurses who passed 2006-2010 have been given their licenses. It takes longer for some people like me who's been waiting for a decade now for my license but I'm positive it's worth it. Thank you so much for this thread. It helps me a lot! And thank you for people like you who take time to help someone like me who had no idea what to do. But it's good to know I'm not alone in this career journey and Aerican dream. Hi, I read your post and I think I have the same case as yours. I check my status today and it says cancelled..I am so worried..I called CA BRN and the person I talked to says I don't have any records of my married name...so frustrating. I passed nclex last 2009 using my maiden name, I was single that time. Now that I have my ssn I use my married name.
Hi jaides!! Oh i know how scared you must be feeling! I drove to sacramento when i saw my application was cancelled! But don't worry, they just need you to sign a form regarding change of name, copy of your SSN, ID and copy of marriage certificate. I got my license last month. Online, my application is still cancelled but i have my certificate with me already.
I am so emotional and scared right now. Good thing there is a group like this whom I can talked to. Do I need to go to Sacramento ? coz I am in another state right now. Or will they send me the form? By the way Congratulations on your license.
Fill this out and send it to them via fax or mail, along with other requirements. If you cannot open the link, go to CA board of nursing website and look for notification of name change. Good luck! Feel free to send a message if you need help!
Congratulations!í ½í±. Usually they will update your breeze within 3days. you should be able to to see your name in nursys, breeze and dca find a nurse website.
I sent a link to the notification of name change form but it won't go through. Allnurses thinks it's a spam. But anyway, go to CA board website and look for that form. Send it via fax or mail it to them. Address and phone number are there. It shouldn't take long before you get yours!
You also should provide your entity number. If you don't have it, give them a call. At first they couldn't find my file and I've gone mad! Lol! I thought my $750 application fee went down the drain for nothing. That was why i drove to sacramento. The reason was when i re-applied, i used my married name. My test results were under my maiden name.

According to them this change is required to decrease the likelihood of someone abusing the policy and soliciting members.
