Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

my timeline-

december 1,2017 - applied for endorsement.

i passed nclex ca 2007.i didn't know i should submit new app form.

jan 23,2018- received a letter and says submit a new app form,ssn, diploma, foreign lic

march 30,2018- called bon and was told that they got my docs and its for evaluation/ process

So it has been 12 weeks since i last posted here about my application and NO license yet.

Total waiting time for me is 1yr and 28 days ������.

Hello! How long did it take for you to get your license? I'm having the same experience. Took mine in 2008 and i only had my SSN this year. I reapplied for examination last month and today they processed my check. Please help! Thank you

So update on my status: I GOT MY LICENSE TODAY! 😭. after waiting for 1 year and 3months waiting time I finally got it😬

Hi this is my timeline:

NCLEX passed: Dec. 2006 ( got it extended to Dec.2010)

SSN received: 2017

Submitted application for initial Licensure by exam: June 13, 2017

Live scan done: June 12, 2017

Cheque encashed by BRN: June 23, 2017

School documents received by the Board: August 7, 2017.

Received email from breeze to confirm email address August 8,2017.

September 17,2018: Checked my breeze account, I got RN license number!

Congratulations! Took you a year and more to get your license?? Oh my! That's a long wait! I submitted mine this June, they cashed the check out in august. Aug31 i got an email regarding confirmation of email. They received my transcript according to tracking number sept 5, called in today for update they said wait 14-16wks more. What caused your delay?

Hi when did you submit your initial application for licensure examination? It will take them 12 weeks just to open your application. And also make sure your school sends in your transcripts in a timely manner! The BRN can not start processing your application if they have not received your school credentials. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE INCLUDED YOUR PASS LETTER! If not you can download it on your breeze account!

Once your cheque has been cashed in, you will receive an email to confirm your email address with Online breeze. You also have to make a breeze account, once you have your breeze account, click on the UPDATE PROFILE( upper right hand corner) add license and follow the prompts( it will ask you to enter your full name and SSN no)

The reason why it took BRN such a long time to hand me my license no. is because I did not give give them my pass letter and copy of my ssn initially and the processing times have been freaking long BUT now I have my license. So it is true even if your nclex has expired before the results are still VALID and WILL never expire you just have to submit your SSN and application for initial licensure for exam and your pass letter and they will give you your license. The waiting time is hurrendous but worth it.😬😬

Hi, I suggest atleast wait 2-4wks before calling them for an update and when you do call ask them if they received your transcripts.

secondly go to http://www.breeze.ca.gov and make an account, after which you click on update profile, then click "add license" enter your name and SSN number after that you can see updates on your breeze account re: your application.

That was my mistake before i did not do any of those on my breeze account so i didn't see updates on my application status. If you havent already, you need to give a copy of your SSN, pass letter and copy of your diploma. The best way to submit these documents is to hand deliver them by yourself. You can send it through express mail or even upload them on your breeze account but these mode of submission means you will have to wait additional weeks or months for it to be processed. If you do decide to upload a copy of ssn, pass letter and diploma do it one by one. DO NOT I repeat, DO NOT upload them in one file or else you will be having issues with the BRN not receiving these docs. Upload them one by one. This was also one of the problems I had with the BRN hence the long wait times. If you follow these steps hopefully by end of this year you will get your license too. Goodluck!

The one thing that caused so much delay on my application is because someone @ the BRN entered my address wrong the first time thats why I never received correpondence from the BRN asking for a copy of my SSN and diploma. That is why it is imperative that you when you make your breeze account, make sure to link your license with your breeze so that you will be able to monitor your application and double check that the address on file with BRN is correct.

Hi! Thank you so much for your reply! I submitted my pass letter, marriage certificate, birth certificate (although not necessary), copy of diploma, copy of Philippine license, the live scan, check amounting to $750 this June. They cashed out the check Aug. 3rd. I created a breeze account as well. Recently, my pending status became "cancelled". I called them and they couldn't give me an answer so I drove 2hrs to sacramento just to tak to someone. She said it's because when i passed, i applied using my maiden name and now I'm applying for my license using my married name. Until now my status says cancelled. I received a mail asking for a copy of my SSN last aug31st, which I promptly sent. They were also asking for the transcript, breakdown of academic something and the RLE. I'm not sure if the school also sent the RLE. That i have to ask. But the board received the forms sept 5. As of now they said they haven't received anything and for me to wait 12-16wks. It's so frustrating..
