How many beds ?
Sorry, just curious ? Thanks for your input School Nurse's !
Since I go to 4 different buildings in 3 different small districts. I will summarize as best I can.
How many in your student population ? I have about 70 in each building. With an additional 50 early child sped little sweethearts in one building. I.LOVE.THEM. One building is 7-12.
How big is your clinic, where is it located ? 2 of my offices are adjacent to the main office. The other 2 are in different parts of the building. I do have an attached bathroom in one :)
How many meds to you give each day? One building has 2, another has 6, one has 1, and the other has 0.
On average, how many kids do you see each day ? 0- 5 or 6. on a busy day 10-12
How many beds ? 1 in each office, except one building I have a chair (unless someone has borrowed it in my absence.) That sounds crazy. But, in this building. Kids know they can't lay down, and usually will go right back to class. Unless, of course, they are obviously sick enough to go home.
I love this schedule. I don't get involved, and no one really expects me to get involved in the stupid drama that occurs regularly in any given building. Another perk, is that if there are those teachers/staff/adm. that get on my nerves. I don't have to see them everyday!!
1. 466 K-5
2. My office inside the main office. Could be bigger. My desk, 2 student chairs, bed, large cabinet for clothes, filing cabinet, sink and storage, large bathroom.
3. 3 daily meds, a few PRN, one diabetic kiddo.
4. Around 30 kids a day.
5. Only one bed, there was two but I had them take it out, took up too much room. That and I don't encourage laying down unless you are REALLY sick. :Emoticon-Devil:
My school is almost 800 kids, grades PK-5th
My office is towards the front of the school, next to the main office but not connected to it. I have a desk area and a clinic area with 3 beds and 2 small benches at the foot of the beds. I have 6 daily meds and one type 1 diabetic with no pump. And I can see anywhere from 20-80 kids a day. Just depends on the season and honestly how tired the teachers are of kids asking to go to the nurse. :)
Just wondering how many in your student population ? 750 plus, 7-12
Also, how big is your clinic, where is it located ? Roomy, I have a secretary and share a suite with the Social Worker, who is a purdy funny guy. Front of the building by Main Entrance. Large windows.
How many meds to you give each day. I have 3 scheduled and a billion PRNS. Asthma is S/A.
On average, how many kids do you see each day ? 20-40
How many beds ? 3
Just wondering how many in your student population ? My School is K-12, 700 kids all together
Also, how big is your clinic, where is it located ? Not sure on actual size, rectanglular shape, with bathroom and small treatment room with its own sink. I have one cot, a desk, student desk and file cabinets. I think it used to be one big classroom, and they added some makeshift walls, as I am separated from the OT/PT/Speech rooms by file cabinets and shelves. Not real private :) Oh and its tucked into the corner of the building, not the best spot, but the school is old and I think this office was an afterthought.
How many meds to you give each day. I have 17 students come for meds each day, and I give 2-4 prn meds each day. Also have 1 diabetic at noon.
On average, how many kids do you see each day ? I see between 15-40 kids (not including meds), it varies alot.
How many beds ? One lone cot
My town is voting in February to build a new school or not. So I may be getting a brand new office :)

On average, how many kids do you see each day ? 25-40 in addition to meds

Also, how big is your clinic, where is it located ?
Decent size - large common area with refridgerator, counter space, sink & cabinets, 2 beds, my desk with computer, a couple of filing cabinets. I also have 3 little rooms within my clinic - roughly 10x10 each - one is my storage room with a cot, sink, microwave & shower, one is our quiet room for our behavior kids and the last room is my screening room - that room has a built in desk/cabinets.
How many meds to you give each day.
11 scheduled meds & 3 Type 1 diabetics that visit me often and maybe 3-5 asthma kids that routinely use inhalers.

2 in the common area; I have 1 in one of my little side rooms but I do not put students in there - mainly the staff will use if they are not feeling well.

Also, how big is your clinic, where is it located? I have a good sized, one room clinic near the main office. A desk, a small table, filing cabiniets, sink area, attached bathroom and full refrigerator with ice maker!
How many meds to you give each day? 6 scheduled; a few PRN inhalers seasonally
On average, how many kids do you see each day ? My first year I was seeing 45-60 kids a day. Now in year 3, not the new kid in town, I probably average around 30 a day plus med visits
