Our members come from all over the world. Some members sign up to interact with other nurses, others sign up for entertainment, then there are those who sign up because they want to learn from other nurses. Why did you sign up with allnurses? Why do you visit allnurses?

Because I need to communicate with smart people in order to stay alive, and I feel more comfortable to do it in writing so that nobody picking me up for my ***damned accent.

And, yeah, here I heard some "thanks for teaching me something new". It is kind of pleasant after being treated for years as "that too-smart-an-ass".

I've been with AN for over 15 years and keep coming back for various reasons, even though I've been retired for a few years. It helps me stay in touch with current practice, and I enjoy learning new things. I also love AN for the humor and the friendships developed over time; I've even met a few of them IRL and correspond with a good number of them on Facebook. This has long been my "happy place" in the world of nursing, and I don't foresee a time when I'm no longer interested. I'm here to stay!

I come to allnurses because sometimes I have to propose a scenerio that I am dealing with at work and like to hear advice from nurses from all corners of the field - not just the ones I work with on a daily basis and are close to the situation.

Haven't used allnurses.com as much as I should have but I plan to use and visit more often. At first I used AN for guidance on career moves and certain places to apply

But as Nurse's Week nears, I realize that not only could I get great advice, I could also give to others with my 25 years of experience.

When I first came to AN, I was a pre-nursing student tryna figure things out. During my first year as a new grad, I came here to vent. Now, I'm just a bruh that likes to chat so I come here. I've always been a computer kind of guy. Browsing the web, watching youtube and twitch, and posting on forums kills time and helps me stay relaxed. It's also nice to help others out, post my opinion, read other people's opinion, and find out random things in nursing.

I use "allnurses.com" because this used to be my go-to site for getting advice from other aspiring nurses and nurses who had words of advice for students. I used this site while I was in nursing school and while I was trying to get through the process of passing my boards. Now that I am a nurse, I am very proud of myself and I want to continue learning about the profession from my peers. Thank you "allnurses.com" for this wonderful resource and thank you to every individual who has posted on this site. It is because of you all that I am a bit more seasoned in the field of nursing. Wouldn't It Be Great To Join a Group Of LPN's/LVN's With The Same Goal Of Attaining Their RN License? I have a dream of launching the greater Atlanta area chapter of the PAVN (practical and vocational nursing coalition)! My purpose would be to form a group of LPNs and LVNs who are interested in coming together for the purpose of supporting one another along the journey to RN-hood! I will find a program that will hopefully be suitable for all members. Perhaps we may need two different programs depending on the geographic location of group members. Remember, this is a dream that has not yet been realized, so I am still doing the research on programs. Projected start dates are Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 so that those who need pre-reqs may complete them. Not only will we study together, remind one another of assignment due dates and share/exchange information, ideally we would extend support to manage other obstacles that tend to decrease our motivation and/or threaten the very integrity of our ultimate goal to care for societies members on a new level with increased responsibilities as a registered nurse...and beyond. Need last minute childcare? Feeling down or discouraged? Have you gone out for work only to find that your car won't crank? Overwhelmed with school/work and just need someone to cook your meal for the day or help you clean up? Contact one (or more) of your Coalition Sisters and we will gladly be there to save the day by lifting up your spirits, looking after the children, cooking, cleaning, etc, whatever it takes to keep us all on track together as a family unit. Hey everyone! I’ve unofficially been with all nurses.com for about a year now. I say unofficially because I started coming here when I started my job Jan 2018 but I just made my account today and am posting for the first time. The new job was extremely stressful but reading about other people’s stories and how they were able to overcome really helped me with my anxiety. to read the silliness of hospitals and nursing staff. The management has evolved as poor quality supervisors who have no people skills. We saw evidence of this recently in a major teaching hospital in our area. I could nto believe what I heard.
