Why does everyone say that they "consigned" a drug waste.....

Everyone say that they "consigned" a drug waste? Well, of course not everyone, but a whole lot of folks on here do.

Shouldn't the word be co-signed? Or have I been wrong all these years? To me, consign is what you do with your used clothes in a consignment shop. :cheeky:

Another great example of illiteracy here:

ACKKK!!! I thought I left those pesky snacks - um, student nurses - behind.

How do they keep getting into nursing school???? And why aren't they screened out of my AN?!?! TPTB should start giving new members some kind of basic literacy test before they're allowed to post.

I mean, really, do we want all the non-nurses who come on here to know how stupid some of our future nurses can be??

On a different note, I have a different "why does (do)...

I'm nearly always on the app, and a lot of times I notice when people use various combos of ( ) : ; etcetera it instead appears as an emoticon. So someone tries to type a sentence with parentheses and an ill placed smiley faces appears. Weird.

I noticed the same thing. If you look on the website, it looks normal, though. I think it's because the app doesn't differentiate between you inserting an actual emoticon vs. having the write combo of semicolons/colons and parentheses. (Such as : D, but not spaced out)

Not just the app. That's how I learned that when typing nurse: patient ratios, I need to put a space in there or the emoticon sticking its tongue out pops up, nurse:patient ratios. Probably a way the shortcuts are added.

I think I'll talk to my uncle in Portland and see if he'll let me buy his house. Go bug Dogen. Yes.

Thank you, ixchel, for being nice to an old bat. :flwrhrts:

I was wondering if you were going to peek back! I tried to follow the other quote but alas the app has bugs. :)

OMG.

Dearest AN members, I have come up with a fantastic money making idea. Nursing schools can hire AN to do initial application screenings. We can google sleuth and grammar check all the things, and make official recommendations.

I'd like to apply for this job.

Best.Idea.Evar!!!

Perhaps a screening process for AN membership as well. They'll be required to submit an introduction post, which we will review for approval to post.
