Who's still waiting on "THE LETTER"

Published

Okay, it's getting down to crunch time!!! I am starting to *think* plan B. I still have to wait until the first part of May before I get any news. If I don't get in, I will need to bust my rear to get more pre req's in this summer for another program starting in Jan'07...

Who else is still waiting for fall 06...and do you have a plan B????

Good luck my fellow future nurses;)

i got my letter today and i got in! i am so excited! i ran in from the mailbox screaming and crying! i went straight to office max to have it laminated!! i was surprised it came so soon because they said it would be here by june 15 so i assumed that it wouldn't come probably until late may or june! i was still checking the mailbox everyday anyway and it paid off! i will keep those waiting in my prayers because i know how stressful it is! just keep praying that's what i did and jesus heard me!!

Specializes in L & D nurse!.

I'm still waiting too. I was told that I should be receiving either a call or a letter in the mail by mid June. I've gotten to the point were I don't think about it anymore. I was so sick to my stomach for so long after I applied so I decided to stop thinking about it. However, I do hope to God that I get accepted.

This waiting is so depressing. I applied to LICH with NLN composite score of 108 and a percentile of 64. I have xfer over Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Psychology, Sociology, English Composition. I really hope I get in. Everytime I see food, all I want to do is eat.

You and me both. I've gained at least 15-20 lbs since I started my pre-clinical classes. I've been so stressed making sure that I get all A's in my classes. I hope that once I get in to the program that I don't have to be so stressed out. However, I doubt that. :o

heh. the letter? i went to a 30 day emt school, a 6 month paramedic couse, and did excelsior college in about 7 months. there was no letter to wait for, as this path is freely available to everyone :).

it's much easier to get into medic school than nursing school. the wait alone can be a hardship. excelsior is self paced, and everyone is accepted if they qualify.

That is all nice but remember that this is a Nursing website.

i am a student at a community college. i have all of my support classes for the adn program done and i have to wait until the end of july or the beginning of august for my letter. i am about to make myself sick. i have gained about 15-20 pounds over the last few months. my stomach is always in knots and i am about to drive my husband crazy. my gpa for the program is a 2.8 and the lowest gpa that got in last semester was a 2.7. the adn director says that i have a really good shot at getting in the fall of 06. the program has about 250 applicants and is accepting 40.

Well, I'm still waiting ... but .....

GUESS WHAT ... it's unofficial still but ...

NO I'M NOT PREGNANT ... dh went into the Medical Studies building at the university today and accidentally on purpose ran into the faculty advisor and asked her when the letters would be going out for acceptance into second year. She said that she had JUST submitted the list to the office and the letters would go out at the end of the week and we would probably get them by the beginning of next week. He said, "Oh, I'll tell Karen that she won't know until next week then!" (sly and manipulative, I tell ya) To that she said, "You can tell her she has NOTHING to worry about!"

He came home as pleased as a duck in water and I knew something was up!! What a geek! He definitely doesn't walk softly where angels fear to tread!

S o ...... it looks like I'M IN!!

How cool Kayel! What a cool hubby! I just finally got my letter 2 wks ago, and I'm FINALLY in, after being on a wait list for THREE years! Yes, I said 3 yrs. I am not an A student, so it took me a lot longer! But I am so excited and my whole mindset is now changing to what i need to do to be prepared mentally, physically, emotionally etc. OOoooooh butterflies! Heather

That's awesome, Heather!!! I'm so happy for you! When do you start? Look forward to talking to you further!

huh? i'm describing how i got my associates in nursing. there is an alternate path. excelsior is an assessment based, nontraditional program. you have to be a paramedic or an lpn to get into the program. it's a great way to avoid the wait for a slot in a traditional nursing school. become a paramedic or lpn first, and go through excelsior.

it pays to think outside the box.
