Hey smitty, they will call you for an interview if you got really high scores on the NLN exam. After the interview, you will get a letter in the mail within a week. I had the interview first and then 2 days later, I was accepted. good luck!

I applied to Nassau and got rejected. I also applied to LI college hospital School of nursing. I took the NLN examination and scored a composite score of 123 with a percentile of 86. My GPA is 3.5. I went on an interview last week. I caused my interviewer to laugh. The ADcomm will get back to me with a letter in 2 weeks.

I got my rejection letter thursday from Nassau Community College. My GPA is 3.42 with all of the required courses. I am not going to give up. I will just have to take spanish over.

I applied to LICHSON (Long Island College Hospital School of Nursing) with a GPA of 3.41 and an NLN composite score of 123 with a percentile of 84%. My grades are as follows: English 3.2 Anatomy and Physiology I 3.5 Anatomy and Physiology II 4.0 Microbiology 4.0 Psychology I 3.5 Psychology II 3.5 Sociology 3.5 What do you think of my chances of getting accepted?

I took microbiology and received an A in the course. Gram staining is the most difficult part of the lab. Try to ask your professor how long culture was sitting for. If you a a 72 hour specimen, the gram stain is not going to work whether it is a gram negative or gram positive bacteria. If you have a 24 hour old specimen and the stain is pink, then you know you have a gram-negative bacteria. The reason why this is is because gram-negative bacteria cell walls aren't thick and can't hold the primary stain (crystal-violet), when the counterstain (safranin) is added. A 72 hour-old culture will enter into the stationary phase which means that you will start seeing some dead bacteria. This means that when you stain the culture, you will see both blue and pink. This is something you want to be careful of. The professor will have you look into the microscope to see what stain the culture is. Just remember, try not to think about what the bacteria is. Just look at the stain. If you see pink, it is gram-negative. If you see blue-violet, it is gram positive. If you see both blue and pink, it is gram variable. And rememeber, ask the professor how old the culture is. This will give you a clue of what stains to expect.

I thought the professors at Suffolk Community College were more difficult than at Nassau Community College. It is very easy to maintain a good GPA at Nassau Community College. My GPA is 3.42. I applied to the R.N program with all of the required courses. I hope I get accepted into the R.N. program. My letter will come at the end of April. I was accepted into the Respiratory Therapist program for the fall of 2007, which has a 30 seat maximum.

It's probably is the Math! Take the math over. Your GPA has to be over 3.5 overall to be considered for nursing, although a friend of mines was accepted into the R.N program with a 3.41 gpa. My GPA is 3.42 with the spanish and 3.51 without the spanish. I was accepted into the Respiratory Therapy program. I would take the Math over. Even with Respiratory Therapy, you have to have a B or better in math.

Just remember this: the property of gram-positive bacteria bacillus (rods) is that they form endospores. All gram-positive bacillus (rods) are endospore-formers. Microbiology is very easy. I took microbiology last semester and received an "A." If anyone needs any help, send me a private reply. I have all of my original notes from the class if anyone wants them. Just remember all of the mediums, and the various stains of the bacteria.

I applied to Nassau Community College Registered Nurses program with a 3.42 gpa in all the required courses the first day the applications came out. I previously applied to the Respiratory Therapy program, and was accepted. I received an "B+" in Anatomy Physiology I, "A" in Anatomy Physiology II, "A" in Microbiology, "B" in College Algebra, "C+" in English, "A" in English Literature, "B+" in Sociology, "B+" Intro to Psychology, "B+" in Child Psychology and C+ in Spanish. I am waiting for the letter in April. I hope I get accepted.

I got accepted to the respiratory therapy program which only houses 30 seats. i hope i get in the nursing program. I took the NLN exam May 9 2006. I received my scores back with composite score of 108 and a percentile of 64. I applied to LICHSON in Brooklyn. If accepted, I will transferring over Anatomy I (B+) & II (A), Sociology (B+), General (B+) and Developmental Psychology (B), and CPR (A). I did type a nice thought out essay as instructed. I hope I get accepted. This waiting is driving me crazy.
