  1. WOW, thank you for such great detail in your response it was greatly appreciated.
  2. What exactly is the responsibility of this position. There are alot of openings for these positions at a few of my local hospitals. Since employees of these hospitals get seats in my local CC nursing program I thought about exploring that route Thank you
  3. Please I take no offense, I feel that you pursue your education any way you can. Some of the students in my class, myself included already have advanced degrees. I did go to a well known univeristy but only managed to get B's in lit and intro to psych (22 years ago..lol) and metioned that I might retake the english to boost my GPA for Nursing School admission since GPA in 4 classes is the only criteria for our CC. Others who might be in the same situation as myslelf felt that their grades from well known universities should count for more, I didn't agree
  4. Plese no flaming as my intentt is NOT to offend anyone. This being said do you feel an A from a major nationally recognized univeristy is the same as an A from a small local CC. This was a recent topic of discussion among my peers.
  5. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed, have been out of school over 22 years and am trying to get back in the groove, but with a family and all it is a bit harder now:chuckle :chuckle I am having a bit of trouble with lab, our prof wants us to complete sections ahead of time before even doing the experiments. We are doing the chemistry section first..YUCK:confused:
  6. Are you sure they are looking at all your classes?? I will be trying to get into CC here in Long Island and they look at your Cum GPA for only 4 classes, English Comp, Psych, A&P I & II. No entrance exam Although I already have a BA I will most likely have to retake English and Psch because I only got B's and don't think that will be good enough to get in
  7. If there are any open classes you may still be able to get in to do your pre-reqs, they have 2 campuses, Ammerman in Selden and Grant in Brentwood.
  8. Thanks so much, that is the one thing that I am terrified of:chuckle :chuckle
  9. How would you handle "unpleasant" odors without gagging. My husband teases me that I will never make it? Nice huh:scrying:
  10. I am doing my pre-reqs now and hope to get into the Fall 08 program. Any feedback whether positive or negative would be appreciated! TIA
  11. I am starting my pre-reqs at 43, hope to have my ASN by 45. Have a prior Liberal Arts BA from 1985:rotfl:
  12. I am taking my pre-reqs there and hope to gain admittance to the nursing program in Fall 08 Good luck to all as we embark on our journey:balloons:
  13. How did everyone find out what text(s) you will be using for your course. I had emailed the professor in hopes of being prepared for the first day, but never received a response. I am nervous enough as it is going back to college after getting my BA in 1985
  14. Hi all add me to the list as well. I am excited and nervous about going back to school since Igot my BA in 1985:lol2:
  15. WOOHOO that is great, I am 43 and just embarking on my pre-reqs, thanks for the motivation!!!
