i sit in the front row, front and center. i have been doing this since i started college in 2006. i'm hoping i can secure my front seat spot for my last two classes in ns.

if i sit in the middle or back rows i get very distracted :uhoh3::uhoh3:. so far it has worked well for me. where do you guys prefer to sit in lecture ?

I sit in the front left, one seat from the wall. It keeps me from being distracted by all the computer screens, so this way I have nothing to focus on but the instructor!

BTW.. all of us girls (4) in the front row are keeners - we get along great!! lol

i sit on the left side of the room 2nd or 3rd row from the front.. there 80ppl in our class ill sleep in the back & wont be able to see the screen LOL

Front row for me. It is a huge pet peeve of mine when people in the 3 rd week decide to move and take other peoples seats. Lol I am a creature of habit!

Most of my classes had stadium seating (class size of 130ish), so I sat second row, slightly left of center [right in front of the teacher's podium].

Never was tempted to get on Facebook that way...

I like to sit close to the front myself. I am also easily distracted :)

Some of you guys are talking about facebook, texting or phone calls.. wow if we did that in our program we might as well pack our bags right out of there. If we have an emergency phone call, it better go through the emergency number they provided us in the orentation course.

To answer the OP- I sit in the Back next to the door. The whole time I have been in college I have been a front and center type of girl but for some reason this nursing school thing has me feeling like a back seater  LOL

I am hoping that I get more comfortable and start sitting in the front row again next semester.

Scott, I literally laughed out loud*L*

mama, I dislike that too! I like my seat and get antsy if someone is sitting in it!

I like to sit in the second row, about 4-5 seats in if I can. it also depends on the desks. I'm fluffy and can't fit comfortably in the attached desk/chair seats. if that's the case I usually snag a single seat and turn a desk around, so I'm usually in the back for that :uhoh3:

As far back as I can get and still see the prof/board/screen and on the far side, on the end of the row if possible. I don't goof off at all in class. Movement behind me distracts me but if I can see it, I can dismiss it. I also really like to see people as they talk (as in class discussions) and can't take good notes when I have to turn around as I would in the front seat.

Hm, for what it is worth, sitting in the front doesn't make texting or any other kind of not paying attention any more visible .... the prof is going to notice anyway.

I sit in the front. I hate distractions so the front is best. I have two awesome instructors at Central Piedmont in NC. As a matter of fact, all the instructors have been great so far. They make you want a front row seat!

I sit on the very back row, to the right of center (generally against the right wall). If I hear shuffling or talking behind me and can't see what's going on, I can't concentrate. I've tried sitting up front in a few classes and got terrible grades; I actually do much better on the very back row. And I'm left-handed, so sitting to the right allows me to angle myself towards the professor and stay focused.

Love this ! glad I'm not the only one.

I like 2-3 rows back, a little to the profs left.

I have a hard time sitting still, I really squirm arond alot, this spot gives me a good view, and room to

move.

I'm also a creature of habit, I do not like it when someone is in "my seat"- when this happens, I'm all off balance

and irritated at the one who "took" my seat! When I have been in classes where this happens, I pray for assigned

seating.

In school, I would always sit in/near the front row. It worked for me because it forced me to pay better attention..and that showed in my grades.
