Aug 27, 2011 i like to sit in the second or third row on the left side.. on the end so if i need to go to the bathroom i can get up without distracting people.... and i feel intimidated in the very front row because i feel like the teacher is staring right at me. lol
SerenePeach 235 Posts Aug 27, 2011 I like to sit in the middle...about 3 or 4 rows back from the front. I don't like sitting up at the very front with the teacher in my personal space lol. It can be intimidating like ashleyisawesome said.

I love sitting in the front. I guess I'm a weirdo, lol. I like the fact the the instructor is close and engaging I tend to grasp concepts more if I'm actually focused on the instructor. Weird, I know.

Actually its more of a personal OCD thing for me. I hate sitting in the front because I hated people looking at me and not being able to see them.

Aug 27, 2011 The front row is for NERDS!!!Just kidding Having said that, for the most part, I love my front row students!! They are the most engaging, and best behaved. They don't text, talk with their classmates, or laugh during lecture. They are not all necessarily the top students, but they try very hard.I have also seen students who find their way up to the front of the classroom when taking the class for a second time. Does it make a difference? I dunno. (there was a clique in my last semester who took up the back row, many of which will be joining me for an encore. I am interested to see where they seat themselves).Tis is only my perception, and is a broad generalization. There are exceptions to this rule (and I have seen them; the one way in the back who appears 'bored' to death, and is getting all 90s). So no need to defend yourself if you are not a front-rower and do well

I associate the back of the class with laziness because that's where I sat in high school and I was a slacker (I'm in no way saying people that choose the back are slackers, that's just my specific association for myself). However, this summer in Pharm, even though I came to class a half hour early everyday, people still got the front seats before me so I ended up in the back anyway! Made no difference to my performance, so now I'll be less stressed if I ever do end up there again.

AppalachianRNstudent 87 Posts Aug 27, 2011 I sit wherever there is an electric outlet because I take my notes on my computer. So, that means I have to sit in the third row back next to the wall.
