I have heard eastern Oregon has a crisis of a shortage, due to the far-flung rural location. I heard some astounding numbers of nurses that are needed. Also, in here, Detroit sounds ripe- if you can dig that climate.

There was a very recent thread (within the last 2 weeks) called the states with the most nursing jobs--or something like that...or the states with the most nursing shortage...look for it...it is exactly the same topic you are posting.
And by the way....very few states have many openings. I hear North Dakota does--new post on that topic
I'm new to the site and wonder if they cannot screen and group certain keywords into one discussion? I find myself all over this site, sort of lost in a forest.

Lots of RN jobs here in Eastern Canada, pretty good pay (depending on experience) and moderate cost of living (really depends on which Province you live in AND rural vs urban). Good work environment around here. We do have pretty cold winters tho'...
Don't know if you're interested in Canada but you can message me if you want more info!
I have a misdemeanor DUI, so I am barred from entry to Canada. CA considers any DUI a felony, regardless of how it was classified in your home locale. And along with it is a five year ban to entry even for vacation. (Also, I hear that this year the legal DUI BAC in Canada is dropping to 0.5%, and that a law was passed there allowing them to pull over any motorist, with or without cause, to administer a breath test for alcohol).
NO- I'm not looking for a place to drink and drive- but by being arrested and trying to cure my trauma, I researched all over the globe to decipher the tragic predicament I was left in. Not only do I not normally drink alcohol, but also I rarely drive. A perfect, sad storm happened to me. Also, I have a friend in Vancouver, which led me to those laws that I mentioned above.
I wasn't thinking that you were looking for a place to drink and drive:) We all make mistakes, live and learn from them!
Well, 5 years is not that long of a time, keep the north in mind! Good luck with the job search.
Five years is an very long time to wait to go to a place of perpetual winter, when I'm a sunbunny! But thanks for your headsup realization that people screw up.

I just got home from vaca in eastern Montana--very low cost of living. I was offered 3 different jobs, but I'm not looking to relocate or even looking for a job. I also heard Williston, ND is begging for nurses. Oil boom, but housing is hard to come by. Good luck!
